Liverpool eyeing 26-year-old Serie A side alongside Alexis Mac Allister this summer

Liverpool eyeing Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella and Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister in summer transfer window

Liverpool apparently remain keen on securing the signatures of Nicolo Barella and Alexis Mac Allister during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This news comes from Italian publication Calciomercato via Liverpool ECHO, which has consistently linked both players with a move to Anfield.

Barella has been a standout performer for Inter Milan and has attracted significant attention from top clubs across Europe. The report suggests that it would take a substantial fee of around £87m to persuade Inter to part ways with the talented Italian international.

While the specific details of Liverpool’s interest in Mac Allister are yet to be revealed, it is clear that the club is actively considering him as a potential addition to their squad. Fabrizio Romano via Twitter said that the Reds inch closer to getting a deal through for the Argentine international.

Mac Allister and Barella to the Reds?

The Reds’ pursuit of these two players indicates the club’s desire to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season. The lack of midfield depth means that getting on board a set of good midfielders is certainly essential for the Reds.

However, the potential transfer of Barella may prove to be a significant financial undertaking for Liverpool. The club had previously shelved plans to target Jude Bellingham due to the high costs involved. This suggests that Liverpool’s pursuit of the Euro 2020 winner will remain contingent on finding a feasible financial agreement with Inter.

As the transfer window unfolds, Liverpool fans will certainly be monitoring any developments regarding the club’s pursuit of the 26-year-old Inter Milan star and Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister.

The coming weeks will reveal whether the Reds oversee success in securing the services of these highly-rated midfielders or if we pursue any alternative options.
