REPORTS: Tottenham has signed a great Player from Ireland, who’s four clubs target next summer

James Maddison has been seriously impressed by Morgan Gibbs-White amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Gibbs-White took to Instagram after helping England win the Under-21 European Championships yesterday.

The 23-year-old had a fantastic tournament for the Young Lions, running the show from an attacking midfield position.

He featured in nearly every game for England during the competition, only dropping to the bench against Germany when the team had already qualified.

Morgan Gibbs-White would have been in with a shout for player of the tournament based on his performances.

Not only did he get on the score sheet against Israel in the semi-finals, he also laid on three assists for his teammates.

New Tottenham signing James Maddison was really impressed Gibbs-White’s performances at the tournament.

There’s a chance they could be teammates going into next season given Spurs have an interest in the playmaker.

After winning the tournament, Gibbs-White posted several pictures of himself on Instagram celebrating with his teammates.

He used the caption: “History made! European Champions!!!” as he celebrated with the trophy.

James Maddison replied to the 23-year-old and said: “Congrats mate!! Brilliant tournament.”

The pair play in very similar positions and Spurs won’t want to use a large chunk of their transfer budget bringing a player in who won’t start every week.

Tottenham will likely have to admire Gibbs-White from afar going into next season.

They’ll hope the arrival of Maddison will mean they don’t regret not moving for the 23-year-old.

Turkish publication Aksam have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to win the race to sign Galatasaray centre-back Victor Nelsson despite the likes of Arsenal entering the picture over recent days.

The report states that Tottenham faced competition from their North London rivals as well as from Serie A duo Napoli and Atalanta for Nelsson but the Lilywhites remained ‘the most serious’ in their interest in the central defender.

It is explained that Spurs initially submitted an offer of €22m (£18.7m) for the Dane, which was turned down by Galatasaray, who informed the Premier League club that the player’s €25m (£21.3m) release clause had to be met to prize him away from Istanbul.

Spurs meet release clause of Victor Nelsson
Aksam claim that after taking some time to consider Galatasaray’s request, Ange Postecoglou’s men have now decided to meet Nelsson’s release clause.

It is suggested that the central defender is thus expected to head to N17 in a deal that represents the biggest sale in Galatasaray’s history.

Spurs Web Opinion

This report has to be taken with a pinch of salt as there has been no suggestion from the likes of Alasdair Gold, Dan Kilpatrick, Charlie Eccleshare and others that Nelsson is anywhere near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.

I suspect the 24-year-old is one of many central defenders that Spurs have enquired about but I highly doubt if the talks progressed any further than that.

Spurs: Tottenham make Harvey Barnes move

The Englishman is a a target for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes as manager Ange Postecoglou continues to revamp his Spurs squad.

Who are Spurs signing?
The north Londoners have seriously made moves so far this this transfer window, with Postecoglou boosted by the additions of Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, James Maddison from Leicester and Manor Solomon on a free transfer.

Goalkeeper Vicario, who put pen to paper on a £17.2 million move to Spurs, could well replace long-serving shot-stopper Hugo Lloris with the Frenchman eyeing a fresh challenge this summer.

Lloris admitted to Nice-Matin that this year could be the end of an era for him at N17, as the 36-year-old hints he is actively seeking opportunities elsewhere.

“We have reached an important moment, whether it be for the club or me,” said Lloris.

“It’s the end of an era. I have a desire for something else. I will carefully study what is possible. However, I haven’t forgotten that I have a year left on my contract at Tottenham, and in football, it’s always hard to predict what will happen.”

Meanwhile, the Lilywhites’ signing of Maddison from Leicester for £45 million signifies a real coup for chairman Daniel Levy, especially considering the England international dazzled with 10 goals and nine assists in the top flight last season.

Solomon, meanwhile, is set to join the aforementioned duo on a Bosman deal after FIFA legislation rules he can join Tottenham for nothing and terminate his Shakhtar Donetsk contract amid the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

Despite signing the Israeli international winger, interestingly, Tottenham are reported to have made a move Leicester City’s Barnes alongside a host of other English sides.

According to The Daily Mail, Spurs have enquired over a deal for the winger, with Aston Villa and London rivals West Ham in the race also.

He is apparently set to leave the King Power Stadium this summer following the Foxes’ relegation, but there is some bad news for Postecogolou, namely that Barnes may not find a move to Spurs attractive.

This is down to their lack of Champions League football next season, with The Mail writing:

How many goals did Harvey Barnes score last season?
The 25-year-old finished 2022/2023 as Leicester’s top goalscorer with 13 goals and one assist in the league alone, making him an attractive potential attacking option for Spurs.

As well as this, Barnes has been praised by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in the past, with the German calling him an “unbelievable player”.

“Barnes is probably one of the biggest talents,” said Klopp.

“I’m not sure if he is respected or appreciated as much as he should be, he is an unbelievable player to be honest, a proper Leicester product.”

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make contact over signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo “this week”, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

Who are Spurs signing?
Spurs and chairman Daniel Levy have been moving fairly quickly in this summer window, having already confirmed a trio of major signings for new manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Lilywhites went trophyless and fell just short of European qualification last season, but that hasn’t altered their pull in the transfer market, with Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison all joining permanently as the manager prepares to make a charge on the top four in his first year at the helm.

The former joins indefinitely from Juventus after 18 months on loan at Spurs, while both Vicario and Maddison put pen to paper on £17.2 million and £40 million moves respectively.

Tottenham, following their capture of the aforementioned stars, are also expected to confirm the addition of Israel international winger Manor Solomon soon. The former Fulham loanee is due for a medical this week, and if all goes to plan, he will be the club’s fourth transfer.

After Solomon, the north Londoners are now looking to add a star centre-back or two to their roster, with Spurs conceding a woeful 63 league goals over 2022/2023.

No side above Bournemouth in 15th suffered more goals against than Tottenham last campaign, something Postecoglou must fix and soon.

moves for both Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven, according to reports, with Adarabioyo of Fulham also remaining on their shortlist.

Fulham’s colossal 6 foot 5 centre-back is a man in demand, though, with “many clubs” interested in signing the former Man City starlet.

That comes from reporter Auona, who also says Tottenham are “expected to contact” their west London counterparts for Adarabioyo shortly.

Sharing news on Twitter, the journalist claims Spurs will take action over their fondness for Adarabioyo, and club-to-club dialogue over the conditions of a deal may take place “this week.”

“Tottenham will made action over Tosin Adarabioyo. The Spurs are expected to contact Fulham this week to know the conditions and terms of a permanent transfer,” the reporter said, before adding that “many clubs are interested”.

Who is Tosin Adarabioyo?
The 25 year-old has been exceptional under Fulham manager Marco Silva over these last 12 months and beyond, ranking among their top ten best-performing players per 90 (WhoScored).

Adarabioyo averaged their second-highest rate of aerial duels won per match in the league over 22/23, all whilst making more clearances per 90 than any other Fulham player in that time (WhoScored).

Called “magnificent” by members of the press, Adarabioyo has also been praised by Silva, with the Whites lauding his quality in possession after a 1-0 loss to West Ham.

“And with Tosin, we know what we expect from him,” said Silva to the media (via The Boot Room).

“Of course, quality on the ball in the first build-up, to find the players between the lines. Tosin had a good game and did what we expected.”

Most of the speculation surrounding Tottenham’s interest in the Denmark international have been coming from Turkey over the last few weeks and it has even been suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s side have already submitted a £19m[€22m] bid to sign the player.

However, according to the report by Aksam, Galatasaray have rejected the offer as they are demanding a fee of around £21m[€25m] – which is his release clause – to let their star man leave.

Nelsson to Tottenham
The report further claims that after contemplating for a while, Tottenham have now ‘decided’ to trigger the release clause in order to sign the defender. So, it seems Tottenham are close to brokering a deal for Nelsson in this transfer window.

It has been suggested that Tottenham have earmarked Van de Ven and Tapsoba as their primary targets to bolster their defence. They have reportedly opened formal talks with Wolfsburg to sign the Netherlands international and he is keen on playing under Postecoglou.

It has been suggested that Tottenham have earmarked Van de Ven and Tapsoba as their primary targets to bolster their defence. They have reportedly opened formal talks with Wolfsburg to sign the Netherlands international and he is keen on playing under Postecoglou.

However, it has been reported that Leverkusen have slapped a huge £60m price tag on Tapsoba’s head. So, it seems Tottenham have decided not to move forward with a deal to sign the African and have opted to shift focus on a cheaper alternative target such as Nelsson.

The 24-year-old is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back, good in defensive contributions and also reads the game well. He possesses the necessary attributes to flourish in the Premier League so Nelsson could be a shrewd signing for Tottenham if they eventually opt to secure his signature in this transfer window.

Club ‘working to overcome’ two obstacles to sign Wolves star – Belief deal can be closed in ‘short time’

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Max Kilman favours a move to Napoli as it will give him an opportunity to play in the Champions League next season.

The Serie A winners have identified the centre-back as a priority target to replace Kim Min-jae.

That’s according to Calcio Napoli 1926, who say the Naples club are ‘working to overcome’ obstacles to secure the Wolves player’s signature in the summer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have also joined Napoli in the race to sign the 26-year-old. The Serie A side could easily overcome this because he wants to play in the Champions League, something that Spurs cannot offer next season.
It’s said Julen Lopetegui’s side value the 26-year-old at €40m. This is the second obstacle as Napoli have offered around €35m to the English club, which they rejected.

The Italians, however, are confident of overcoming this by potentially including bonuses or by offering to pay the difference at a later date.

All the other defenders that are on the Italian champions’ list are also going to cost around €40m, but Kilman is the favourite target for Rudi Garcia.

Therefore, the report states a deal for the Wolves defender can be closed in a ‘short time’ with the two obstacles seemingly easily overcome.

Lazio and Napoli are both keeping tabs on Samuele Ricci, but it’d take a large offer to convince Torino to sell. The Granata plan to hold on to their best players. They convinced Milan Juric to stay in their dugout for another campaign thanks to such a promise.

Per Il Mattino, the Partenopei are seeking a midfielder that could be utilized both in 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1. The youngster fits the bill. He’d be able to deputize Stanislav Lobotka and their box-to-box.

Instead, Lazio want a maestro that could alternate with Danilo Cataldi and could potentially give Ricci a larger role compared to Napoli, La Stampa informs. The Biancocelesti are also keen on Antonio Sanabria in their never-ending search for a backup striker, Sky relays.

Per Calciomercato, the capital side will have a meeting with the agent of the player in the next few days. The Granata paid €8.5M to sign him from Empoli.

Our Take on Napoli, Lazio, and Ricci
His versatility is an asset and he can still be molded, even though he will never be an Andrea Pirlo-esque deep-lying playmaker. While almost nobody is truly untouchable these days, the suitors would have to open up their wallets to get him. His departure would be surprising.

Wolves to make ‘revised offer’ after €15m defender bid ‘rejected’
Wolverhampton Wanderers transfer news from BirminghamLive as the club looks for a defender to replace Nathan Collins

are interested in Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson as they look for replacements in central defence, according to a report.

Julen Lopetegui needs at least one new centre back after Nathan Collins moved to Brentford for £23m this week, following Conor Coady’s move from Molineux to Leicester City for an initial £7.5m last week. The need to recruit for the heart of the defence will become even more acute if Napoli meet Wolves asking price of £35m for Max Kilman having had a £30m bid turned down.

Wolves were linked with Nelsson last summer and appear to have revived their interest in the 24-year-old Dane. That’s according to Turkish paper Takvim which says Wolves have had an offer of 15m Euros (£12.8m) rejected by Galatasaray who are holding out for £25m Euros (£21.4m). They say a Wolves could ‘knock on the door’ with a new offer.

Nelsson joined Galatasaray from FC Copenhagen two years ago and he has just helped them win the Turkish title. Wolves may face competition though as Tottenham have also been linked as with the Danish international as Ange Postecoglou rebuilds his side. Tottenham have also been linked with Kilman although Napoli appear to be frontrunners for the 26 year old left-footed centre back if Wolves do decide to sell.
