Aston Villa defender Alex Moreno has posted an update as he continues to recovery from injury.

The left-back is working his way back from a hamstring injury which he picked up against Liverpool towards the end of last season. It saw him sit out of the final-day match against Brighton as Villa qualified for the Europa Conference League.

Moreno also underwent surgery for the injury in May, and is spending his summer productively as he looks to hit the ground running next season when Villa will play in Europe for the first time in 2010.

On Saturday (June 17), Moreno posted a video clip on his Instagram Story, which showed him walking in a swimming pool with a polystyrene noodle for balance and a little resistance. He posted the clip, filmed in Seville, with the caption: “We continue with the recovery in the pool.”

At the end of the clip, he poses by flexing his arms and has a wide smile on his face. He followed it up with another picture of him smiling, which is nice to see for Villa fans.

Speaking at the time of his injury, Moreno said: “In an unexpected way, this hamstring injury came to me, bad news, since we were on the final stretch of the season and struggling to get into European competitions.

“I felt pain and a sensation that I had never felt before, I knew that something it as not going well but thanks to the quick action of the club staff we were able to operate on Tuesday the 23rd, everything went well. A different summer is here, where I will give 200% of myself to come back stronger than ever!”

The full-back is certainly working hard to recover and looks to be fulfilling his promise of giving his ‘200%’ to come back ahead of pre-season. While his return date is unknown, he certainly seems motivated to be back giving his best for Villa next season.

Arthur joined Liverpool on a season-long loan last summer, though he didn’t get many opportunities to impress in the red shirt due to injuries.
