Chelsea just made a ‘mega’ offer to sign ‘exceptional’ youngster before Tottenham agreed deal
Chelsea made a late attempt to sign Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore before Spurs eventually agreed a deal with the youngster.
What’s the story?
Well, Chelsea have been focused on signing the best young talent across Europe since Todd Boehly arrived at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have already snapped up gems such as Kendry Paez, Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka for huge fees.
Now – as detailed by the Mirror – a move was made to pinch Moore from Tottenham.
It is said that Chelsea sent the 15-year-old a ‘mega’ contract offer with his terms at Spurs expiring at the end of June, while Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan were also monitoring the teenager.
Eventually, Moore – who The Athletic have described as an ‘exceptional talent’ – ended up signing a new contract at Tottenham running until June 2025, after being promised first-team football within two years.
Daniel Levy – Chairman of Spurs – even had to personally get involved in Tottenham’s attempts to keep the England Under-16 international after Chelsea made an offer.
Mikey Moore situation should encourage Chelsea fans
While Tottenham managed to keep Moore away from Chelsea on this occasion, it should encourage supporters to see Boehly and his team be so alert to potential opportunities such as this.
Moore has the potential to become one of the best footballers in England, and if Chelsea managed to sign him on a free transfer at this early stage of his career, it would have gone down as a shrewd bit of business.
Unfortunately, it was not to be on this occasion, but nobody can deny that Chelsea are well and truly on their toes when it comes to snapping up the best young talent on the planet.

Tottenham Hotspur are expecting €60m bid for Son Heung-min
According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are expecting a €60m bid for Son Heung-min from Saudi Arabia club Al Ittihad.
Alongside the lucrative offer, it is rumoured that Son has been presented with an enticing four-year contract, promising an impressive €30 million per season. The allure of such an offer is undeniable and the player might be tempted.
Son, who still has two years remaining on his contract with Tottenham, has become an integral part of the squad, and the club is in no hurry to bid him farewell. He also has a point to prove next season.
With the arrival of new manager Ange Postecoglou, Son is set to play a pivotal role in the team’s future plans. The Australian tactician undoubtedly views the dynamic forward as a key piece of his puzzle.
Since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has left an indelible mark on Tottenham, netting an impressive 145 goals and providing a further 80 assists in 372 appearances. His impact on the pitch cannot be understated.
While Son’s potential departure looms, he is not the only Tottenham striker linked with a summer move. The contract of Harry Kane, another key figure within the squad, is set to expire next summer, and there have been no indications of an imminent extension.

As Spurs prepare for what promises to be a crucial season, they must navigate these challenging negotiations with caution. The futures of Son and Kane hang in the balance, and decisions made in the coming months could shape the trajectory of the club for years to come.
Despite a poor last season for the South Korean, we all know his abilities. Son did reveal that he played through the season with an injury and having undergone surgery for the same, he might be back to his best.
