West Ham has signed  Carlos Borges from Manchester City on permament transfer. 🚨🛠️ #WHUFC

West Ham United are close to completing a deal for Man City winger Carlos Borges according to Fabrizio Romano. It is understood that the deal for the exciting attacker is as good as done, with only minor formalities remaining.

Borges was the best player in Premier League 2 during the last campaign and is regarded as one of Europe’s best talents. The signing would be something of a coup for West Ham with the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain also interested

The 19 year old left winger is Portugese but crucially qualifies as a home grown player. The rapid winger skillful and possesses an eye for goal having scored 24 times last season.

Fabrizio Romano: West Ham United agreement in place to sign Carlos Borges, ‘here we go’ soon
West Ham United are close to agreeing a deal to bring young Manchester City winger Carlos Borges to the London Stadium on a permanent transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 19-year-old Portuguese winger joined the Manchester City academy from Sporting’s youth set-up back in 2014 and has remained at the Etihad throughout his short career, yet the Citizens have agreed to a £14m fee for him to head to East London according to Romano.

David Moyes has reportedly been looking to strengthen his forward options and has also wanted to add more youth to his side and the signing of Borges ticks both boxes.

Taking to Twitter to explain the deal, Romano wrote: “West Ham are closing in on deal to sign Carlos Borges from Manchester City on permanent transfer. Verbal agreement in place for 2004 winger, fee around £14m.

“As always, Man City will include a buy-back clause into the deal. Details being finalised then here we go.”

West Ham seem to be entering a new era after winning the Europa Conference League and losing Declan Rice and thanks to the huge cash windfall they’ve had through the England international’s departure, they can grasp opportunities like this one.

Borges is at senior level a relatively unknown quantity, but in the City academy, he has been a formidable force, with the Manchester City website describing him as a direct player who loves to run at an opposing full-back and “cause damage” in the final third.

The young forward also possesses electric pace as well as an eye for goal and that description may remind some Hammers fans of Michail Antonio’s skillset, which could mean the Irons are covering themselves if the Jamaican international is to leave the London Stadium.

It also speaks of the value that Man City see in the Portuguese youth international that they have included a buy-back clause in the deal, although common practise by City, they don’t want to lose the opportunity to secure his services in the future.cg

West Ham United transfer news as Conor Gallagher imagines Chelsea move already
West Ham are in positive talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher for a fee of up to £30m according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The 23-year-old midfielder is one of a number of names on the radar of the Hammers as they look to begin to replace Declan Rice and according to Plettenberg, both clubs and the player are positive about the move.

Taking to Twitter late on July 17, he wrote: “Conor Gallagher, he’s also on the list of West Ham, next to Goretzka. Talks with the 23-year-old are positive and ongoing.

“Talks are about a transfer fee package between £21m and £30m for Chelsea. Understand the player can really imagine to join West Ham.”

Gallagher featured 35 times in the Premier League last term for the Blues, but as the summer clear out continues at Stamford Bridge, there has always remained an expectation he is one of the many who could end their time in West London.

The Hammers could be set to beat German giants, Borussia Dortmund, to the England international’s signature, with the report desorbing the chances of Gallagher heading abroad as “not hot at this stage.”

A different dimension

What has perhaps been lost in the fallout of Rice’s departure is the fact two thirds of West Ham’s Conference League winning midfield are still at the London Stadium and Lucas Paqueta especially can be considered a nailed on starter next year.

Gallagher brings with him guaranteed work rate not dissimilar to that of Rice, but is more attacking in profile. Perhaps his best football came during his time on loan at Crystal Palace where he managed to score eight goals and assist three times in 34 appearances.

His game is about a lot more than his goal involvements, however. David Moyes side are going to be heading into a congested season with Europa League football on top of all domestic competitions so the energy of Gallagher will be an excellent tool in their arsenal.

However, any attempt to replace Rice is going to require more than just one player. If the link to Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka is also true, that could provide a more exciting midfield alongside Paqueta in hope the Irons can have a better season domestically this term.

Sources: West Ham open official talks to sign Conor Gallagher
West Ham have opened talks with Chelsea over the signing of Conor Gallagher, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hammers are keen to add to their midfield options and on Sunday officially opened dialogue with their London rivals over the signing of the 23-year-old.

Gallagher is a target for multiple Premier League clubs but West Ham are the first to make a formal move as they look to strengthen their midfield following Declan Rice’s exot.

Fulham’s João Palhinha has also been targeted with a bid around £45million but it is understood Fulham are holding out for far more.

Gallagher will likely be far cheaper, with West Ham hoping to pay around £30m for the Englishman.

Harry McGuire is also a target and has been subject to enquiries but there is yet to be progress made on those negotiations with the Man United defender reluctant to leave.

James Ward-Prowse is also a player who has been looked at although no formal approach has been made yet by West Ham for the Saints captain.

Chelsea are open to the sale of Gallagher but they may have to secure their own midfield targets before sanctioning a sale, with a deal for Brighton star Moises Caicedo moving closer to completion.

The record sale of Rice was officially completed at the weekend and that now allows West Ham to go into overdrive in the market.

The Europa Conference league winners are keen to strengthen and avoid another relegation battle.

The England international, who was part of the squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, made 45 appearances in the 2022-23 season – scoring three and assisting one. His contract at Stamford Bridge runs until June 2025.

In other news, West Ham lead Newcastle in race to sign £190,000-a-week star.

Leeds United have reportedly offered central midfielder Tyler Adams to West Ham United this summer.

According to a report from 90Min, Leeds are looking to sell some of their prized assets in the summer transfer window, and have offered Tyler Adams to West Ham.

It’s little wonder why David Moyes might be interested in the Leeds midfielder, with Declan Rice having recently left the Hammers to join Arsenal.

The Extraordinary Rise of Will Still
It’s little wonder why David Moyes might be interested in the Leeds midfielder, with Declan Rice having recently left the Hammers to join Arsenal.

And it seems as though the Scot will have a free run at Adams, if he really does want to sign him…

Tyler Adams could be West Ham bound after latest claims
90Min claim that the Whites are prepared to let the 24-year-old central midfielder join the Hammers this summer.

The Leeds man is a good footballer, and much will depend on how much the west Yorkshire outfit are demanding for his services.

I think that Adams would be a very solid addition to our squad, but he’s not fit to lace Dec’s boots.

So unless Moyes signs him in addition to an elite central midfielder, then I think he might be somewhat of an underwhelming signing for West Ham.

That’s not to say that he isn’t a good player, because he most certainly is.

Tyler Adams is a tenacious tackler, has plenty of energy and stamina, and would definitely be able to do a solid job for West Ham.
