West Ham has  sign 22-year-old winger without a goal or assist for his club moye smile

West Ham United are reportedly battling Everton for the signing of Porto winger Goncalo Borges this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old Porto attacker is on the radars of both West Ham and Everton in the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes badly needs to add more quality to his attacking options at the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham are being heavily linked with the likes of Jeremy Doku and Mohammed Kudus, but it seems as though Moyes could also be about to swoop in for a slightly more unheralded name.

However, the Hammers will have to fight off competition from Everton for his signature…

West Ham now want to sign 22-year-old winger Goncalo Borges

Fabrizio Romano reckons that the Hammers and Everton are eyeing up summer moves to sign the Porto starlet.

I’m really not sure about this one – surely Moyes should be targeting more proven players this summer? The West Ham boss needs his new additions to come in and hit the ground running in order to avoid another poor start to a Premier League campaign.

He is an old fashioned winger in the sense that he’s right footed and plays on the right! The 22-year-old possesses absolutely blistering pace – something we need urgently at West Ham.

However, it has to be said that signing Borges would be a huge gamble. He is still yet to bag either a goal or an assist for Porto’s senior side (Transfermarkt).

And questions have to be asked as to whether he’s in any way ready to make the jump up to the Premier League.

He certainly doesn’t have the build required to play in England – he’s far too slight in my opinion.

I would prefer it if West Ham signed a more established winger than Goncalo Borges this summer, or at the very least a youngster who has a proven track record of consistent goals and assists.

West Ham United reportedly made a £40 million bid for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

According to The Guardian, Bournemouth hitman Dominic Solanke was the target of a monster bid by West Ham, but the Cherries rejected our summer transfer window advances.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to sign a top-class centre-forward this summer, with Gianluca Scamacca having left to join Atalanta.

And now it seems like the Hammers actually made a concrete move for the 25-year-old forward…

West Ham tried to make Dominic Solanke our 3rd most expensive signing of all-time

The Guardian reckon that the Hammers had a £40 million bid for the former Chelsea and Liverpool man knocked back by Bournemouth.

Had the offer been accepted, he would have been our third most expensive signing of all-time behind Lucas Paqueta and Sebastien Haller.

I have to say, I’m delighted that that bid got rejected! And not because Solanke is a terrible player, he’s very good at what he does, but we need a proper goalscorer.

The 25-year-old certainly isn’t that. He has scored just 10 goals in 76 Premier League games for the Cherries (Transfermarkt) – a truly woeful return for a centre-forward.

Sure, he’s a hard-working forward but he’s worth nowhere near £40 million. I wouldn’t have been happy had we signed him for £30 million!

David Moyes needs to be far more ambitious with his striker targets this summer. West Ham signing Dominic Solanke for £40 million would have been a backwards step as far as I’m concerned.
