West Ham fans will be in dreamland over big UEFA decision after recent controversy

Now David Moyes – should he decide to remain as expected – and his players will get another bite at the cherry next term.

Just as winning the Europa Conference League is rewarded with a place in the next tier of European competition, so too is the Europa League.

So if West Ham can ‘do a Sevilla’ and win the Europa League they will qualify for the Champions League.

The big shame about the final against Fiorentina is that West Ham only officially had just under 6k tickets after UEFA unfathomably chose a 20k seater stadium for a major European final.

But West Ham fans will be in dreamland over a big UEFA decision after the recent controversy.

Because UEFA officially confirmed this week that the 50,000 plus capacity Dublin Arena will host the 2023/24 Europa League final.

Hammers fans taking over Dublin – it’s another to make the mouth water
In an announcement on the UEFA Europa League website, it states: “The 2023/24 UEFA Europa League season will conclude at Dublin Arena in the Republic of Ireland.

With a capacity in excess of 50,000, the Dublin Arena is the home of the Republic of Ireland’s national football and Ireland’s rugby union team. First opened in 2010, the stadium will be staging its second UEFA Europa League decider, having been the venue for the all-Portuguese final of 2011 between Porto and Braga, when Radamel Falcao scored the only goal as the Dragons took the trophy.”

Not only is the bigger capacity venue much more fitting – just imagine West Ham fans at a European final away day in DUBLIN!

The stuff dreams really are made of. And all made possible by our brilliant Conference League victory.

Other clubs would be biting your hand off for that chance.

West Ham United fans will be in dreamland over a big UEFA decision after the recent controversy involving the Hammers.

West Ham are European champions – a phrase that will never get boring – after the thrilling last minute win over Fiorentina on Wednesday night.

Not only did that end West Ham’s 43-year major trophy drought, it also sealed qualification for the group stages of next season’s Europa League too.

It is a return to the competition in which West Ham came agonisingly close to making the final the season before.

Had the Hammers made it past Eintracht Frankfurt the general consensus was that they would have had far too much for Rangers in the final.
