Ian Wright tears into £19m Manchester United star who completely disrespected teammate yesterday

Ian Wright has accused Diogo Dalot of completely disrespecting Rasmus Hojlund after Manchester United suffered a heavy loss to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Wright was speaking on Match of the Day after the Cherries came away with a famous 3-0 victory as Andoni Iraola continues to silence his critics.
For Manchester United, it was another miserable day. And one of the players who made a real error in the game was Diogo Dalot. The £19 million man squandered a brilliant opening for the home side just before Bournemouth got their second goal of the afternoon.

But rather than try and find the striker, Dalot had an attempt on goal from a tight angle. Unsurprisingly, the defender found the side netting. And his teammate was certainly not too impressed by Dalot’s effort.
Ian Wright was another who was angry about Dalot’s decision, noting that Hojlund should be making a point to him that that ball simply had to be played across.
“It was for me, when I saw that it was Dalot, and at 1-0, we’re talking about Hojlund’s come on now and he wants his chance. This is good play from them. He gets in, he’s got to square this. He’s got to square it to him,” he told Match of the Day.
MORE MANCHESTER UNITED STORIES
“I think the total lack of respect for him. Look, he’s had a shot from the most ridiculous angle. He’s upset with himself. But he doesn’t even look for Hojlund, has a ridiculous shot. And Bournemouth score a minute later. Hojlund, he’s got to be pulling him up in the dressing room about that.”
Erik ten Hag’s side relying too much on moments of inspiration to save their season
Of course, Hojlund scoring then could have changed the complexion of the game. Manchester United have picked up some impressive results of late without being that good at times. So they would have had the belief at that stage that they could go on and win from there.
But Dalot is not the only player who was guilty of letting the team down. It was a bleak day for United. And Erik ten Hag must be wondering what he needs to do from here.
United have proved to be a team largely relying on moments of individual brilliance to salvage much of their season so far.
Perhaps that is why Dalot was inspired to go for goal from the tight angle. But clearly, it was a costly error from the Portuguese.
