Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have been linked with Jean-Clair Todibo, and previous comments from Lothar Matthaus on the defender will certainly encourage them.

French publication L’Equipe have claimed that Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United all want to sign

from Nice in the summer transfer window.

And the French club are willing to sell the 23-year-old as well.

Nice reportedly want €40 million (£35.5 million) for the former Barcelona defender.

Now, Todibo did not manage to make a mark during his time at Barcelona, but the Frenchman has been very good for Nice.

The 23-year-old has made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 this season.

The young French defender has also played four times in the UEFA Conference League for Nice this campaign.

Given how good Todibo has been for Nice, we are not surprised at all that Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United all have been linked with him.

Liverpool could do with freshening up their backline by signing one or two new young centre-backs in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are likely to play in the UEFA Champions League next season and will also be determined to at least challenge for the Premier League title.

So, a player of Todibo could help the Red Devils in their quest.

The same could be said about Newcastle.

And Liverpool, Manchester United and Liverpool all will encouraged to hear what Germany legend Matthaus said about the defender in Sport back in April 2020.
