Dan Hurley declined a sizable offer to become the Los Angeles Lakers’ next head coach in order to stay at UConn, a move that has reverberated across the basketball community.

Hurley was reportedly offered $100 million over eight years, but it didn’t seem like enough to entice him to leave UConn, where he is currently chasing a third national championship in an attempt to become the first head coach to accomplish so since UCLA’s John

Wooden, who from 1967 to 1973 won an incredible seven tournaments in a row.

This significant event not only confirms Hurley’s dedication to the team he has turned into a national powerhouse, but it also means the Lakers will have to continue looking for a new head coach.

Hurley won’t have to go without food as long as he attends the University of Connecticut, having said that.

Dan Hurley is honored for his loyalty

Many Los Angeles Lakers supporters were concerned about the team’s current state when Dan Hurley decided to stay at UConn, but it also boded well for his future. He has created a robust program and will receive free food for the rest of his life.

Hurley was offered, and it was confirmed on Monday, by a local Connecticut restaurant named J. Timothy’s Taverne, that if he stayed at UConn, he could order their legendary wings for the rest of his life without having to pay a dime.

However, Martin Rosol’s Meats also made the decision to join in, announcing that they would provide complimentary hot dogs and eternal kielbasa. It turns out that the Lakers are the only team still in need of a coach.
