That Liverpool performance was as bad as it gets. The midfield was pretty much non-existent for most of the game.
When you have one player who doesn’t play well you can overcome it together, but when you’ve got two in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai who have barely played together, you’re going to struggle a little bit. Mo Salah too – he wasn’t top of his game.
It is this thing again when we go away to the so-called lesser teams and we’re shocking. You’ve simply got to win them, got to get that first goal. To get that first goal it means playing well and approaching the match in the right manner.

We go to Newcastle, go 1-0 behind, go to all these places and get results. We were unlucky at Tottenham, but playing the lesser sides since last year I don’t know what goes on. All due respect to them, one thing they have got is fight. It is their cup final, playing Liverpool, but we’ve got to overcome it.
Manchester City will go to Luton and win 4-0, and that’s what we can’t do. They might go to Newcastle and lose, but these lesser teams they beat. They need to start treating them like they are the bigger teams, because we’ve got something in our DNA at the moment that’s stopping us from beating them.
First of all you have to win the battle. They will battle, they will go through a brick wall, and Liverpool can’t shirk anything – match their battling – and when you do that you rise to the top and get your win. If you can’t battle against these teams, you’re going to struggle to battle for the title.
Having said that, if we take our chances and get the first goal we win that game comfortably. That’s it. People talk about Darwin Nunez but what I will say is I don’t mind it – if he can get in there four or five times a match he’s not going to miss that many.
Some missed chances were bad, he snatched at others, but at least he’s in there. It’s frustrating take it from me, you ask Robbie Fowler or Rushy the same, we’ve all been in that situation when we’ve had off-games, as long as he keeps on getting in there he’ll score a bag full of goals and that’s what we want.
But to end on a positive note, it was just fantastic to see Luis Diaz get on, get the goal and show his feelings to the whole world. It might have been pushing him but thought he should have come on at half-time rather than wait for 65 minutes, it was that bad.
The goal meant a lot more than usual, it puts this militia into perspective and gives them the PR what they deserve, which is nothing. All over the world they’ve done themselves no good, whatever they’re fighting for, they’ve done themselves no good by doing what they’ve done.
You don’t get on in this world by doing things like that and they’ve made themselves look pathetic. The sooner his dad is home the better, and he showed the world on Sunday what he is all about. Magnificent. Man of the Match for what he did here.

‘First time I’ve ever seen’: Gary Neville noticed what Tottenham fans did at full-time v Chelsea
Lee Connor
Mon 6 November 2023 22:24, UK
Tottenham and Chelsea played out an utterly mad fixture tonight as the away side eventually ran out 4-1 winners.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were soundly beaten in the end but not before a chaotic night had seen red cards, disallowed goals and penalties awarded. In the end, Nicolas Jackson managed a hat-trick to end his drought and boost his stat line.
For Tottenham, it was finally the end of their unbeaten run and it means they now sit behind Manchester City in the race for the title.
However, Spurs’ fans were still pretty happy with what they saw. And at full-time, despite losing 4-1, the home crowd still had it in them to cheer their side and applaud their efforts.
And watching on for Sky Sports, Gary Neville admitted he was amazed by what he saw.
Gary Neville praises Tottenham fans at full-time v Chelsea
Speaking as the final whistle went in North London, Neville admitted he couldn’t quite believe what he was seeing from the Tottenham fans.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a team beaten 4-1 and still see them get a standing ovation. It was a mad, mad night,” Neville said.

MORE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STORIES
The Spurs fans have become accustomed to seeing their team go for it and that’s exactly what they did v Chelsea tonight, even with nine men.
However, in the end, it proved a bit of a useless tactic as Chelsea’s running in behind with pace eventually got them the goals they needed to get over the line.
For Nicolas Jackson, it was dreamland really as he tucked home a couple of easy finishes to really boost his confidence.
As for Ange Postecoglou, there will be a lot for him to take away. And while there’ll be positives, it will be interesting to see if he does change tact at some point in the future.
On this evidence, though, we can’t see that coming too soon.
