Dear Deidre
I FANTASISE about my wife having sex with another man while I watch but I’m worried she is going to cheat behind my back.
I’m 31 and my wife is 29. We’ve been together for four years, got married last year and have a little boy together.
Our relationship is really good and our sex life’s pretty good too, but I fantasise about her having sex with another man.
My wife says she isn’t into this and wouldn’t do it.
I sometimes work away and as a joke I suggested that the next time I went away, she should message my best mate, who’s 30, and flirt with him.
She did as I suggested and told me everything they’d said up until they started sending pictures — that part she kept to herself.
She sent pictures of herself in her underwear — the same pictures I have on my phone.
She denied sending him the photos but eventually my friend came clean to me, so she did too.
I kept suggesting we invite my friend round one evening when I was there but she said she didn’t want to sleep with him and didn’t want him to come round.
But I’ve been away a lot for work and have been spying on her texts.
I know they regularly send each other messages.
She tells me most of what is said but hasn’t told me all of it.
They sent more pictures but again my wife wouldn’t take any new ones for him.
Now she keeps asking my friend to come over when I’m not there.
My friend knows about my fantasy and he asked my wife to let me watch, but she says she doesn’t want me to know.
She doesn’t realise I know all about it,
I’m worried she will invite him round while I’m away to have sex with him, hoping I will never find out.
I’m turned on by it all but also worried what she might do behind my back.
DEIDRE SAYS:
If ever there was a time for the saying: “Be careful what you wish for.”
Your wife didn’t want to do it in the first place – didn’t that tell you something?
It may have started as a joke but it is beginning to backfire on you.
It’s not just a fantasy – that’s something that stays in your head.
Acting it out is cheating and will make you jealous and resentful.
You’re already spying on her in a very creepy way.
Involving an outsider in your sex life often leads to ugly complications.
This could break up the relationship, so do something.
If she really does fancy a change, there is even more reason to speak.
Tell your friend it’s not going to happen.
Then turn on the romance big-time and show your wife you love her too much to ever share her.
My e-leaflet on Sexual Fantasies will help you get your thoughts clear.

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Manchester City’s highly-rated young full-back Yan Couto as a transfer target for the summer.
The 21-year-old has not yet featured in a competitive game for Man City, but has impressed on loan at one of their affiliate clubs Girona this season, with his form in La Liga clearly showing Madrid that he could perhaps be a good option to do a job for them.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, as translated by Sport Witness, Real have been impressed by Couto and now feel he could be a good option to sign as someone to compete with Dani Carvajal for a place at right-back.

City fans will no doubt be keeping an eye on this as Couto could end up being someone worth recalling and introducing into their first-team setup before too long.
Of course, there’s plenty of competition for places at the Etihad Stadium, but if a club like Real Madrid are showing an interest, it surely gives Pep Guardiola something to think about.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was presented with the Bart Starr Award at the annual Super Bowl Breakfast on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Fitzpatrick became the first Alabama alumnus to win the award named for the former Crimson Tide quarterback.

The Bart Starr Award has been presented annually by Athletes in Action since 1989 to “the NFL player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community.”
A two-time consensus All-American at Alabama and a three-time All-Pro in the NFL, Fitzpatrick had a trying season in 2023 because of injuries. He missed seven games, which Fitzpatrick said gave him “a lot of time to do a lot of reflecting.”
“I remember asking myself questions,” Fitzpatrick said in accepting the award, Teresa Varley reported for the Steelers’ official website. “I’m trying to be a better man. I’m trying to be a good man. And I remember asking myself the question: What is a good man? And I was dwelling on it for weeks. I pride myself on being a good man. But really what is that? I’m sitting in my prayer time, my quiet time, God started speaking to me, telling me a good man is a dead man. And at first I heard that and I was like, I don’t really know what that means. I want to live. But then he revealed it to me.
“One of the first requirements that Jesus gave his disciples was to take up his cross and to follow him. A lot of us think of the cross as gold crosses they wear on their neck or may have a tattoo. But the cross was an instrument of torture. It was an instrument of humiliation. It was an instrument for an evil cause, but what Jesus did when he got on the cross was turn it into a beautiful thing. The fact that he died on that cross and made the cross a beautiful thing is what God was saying to me. A good man is a dead man. A good man is a man who is willing to pick up his cross and follow Jesus. A good man is a man who’s willing to get up on that cross daily, sometimes multiple times throughout the day, pin his flesh to it and continue to follow Christ.”
READ TERESA VARLEY’S “FITZPATRICK PRESENTED WITH BART STARR AWARD”
Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin attended the event to present the award to Fitzpatrick.
“What a blessing and honor to be here,” Tomlin said, “particularly because of that young man sitting before me. I am never surprised by God’s greater plan. I’m just always ready to receive it. …
“It’s not my style to be at the Super Bowl, site to be quite honest with you, unless I’m working. I’m leaving here and going directly to the airport. This man, Minkah Fitzpatrick, is so deserving of this recognition, I would not miss this. I read the description of what this award embodies — a man of high character, values, integrity and leadership on and off the field. And it could have just said: Minkah Fitzpatrick.”
Starr was a Sidney Lanier High School and Alabama quarterback who had a Pro Football Hall of Fame career with Green Bay. Starr played for the Packers from 1956 through 1971 and was Green Bay’s coach from 1975 through 1983.
With coach Vince Lombardi, Starr led the Packers to five NFL championships, including victories in the first two Super Bowls. He won the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award in 1966 and was the MVP of the first two Super Bowls. Starr joined Johnny Unitas and Sonny Jurgensen as the quarterbacks on the NFL’s All-1960s team and entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977 in his first year of eligibility.
Starr died at age 85 on May 26, 2019, in Birmingham.

Ex-Everton CEO Wyness: Liverpool value set to ‘go through the roof’
Premier League ‘salary cap’ could supercharge revenues, says former Everton CEO
Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has claimed a “salary cap” could catapult the values of clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal “through the roof” and get better investment into the Premier League.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested increasing American ownership in England could see a cap on wages become reality.
According to Capology, Premier League clubs are paying in excess of £1.8billion per year in wages to their players – down more than £200million on the 2022-23 campaign.
The same source claims Man City star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne brings home the highest base wage – £400,000-a-week.
Many North American sports leagues have a salary cap in place, including the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB.
Previous reports have claimed the Premier League are considering introducing a hard cap which would restrict clubs to spending 70% of their turnover on wages and transfer fees.
Asked about how this would affect clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal, which are run on a self-sustainable basis, Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “The NFL franchises went through the roof in terms of valuations when there was a salary cap introduced.
“We’ve always talked about American owners in the Premier League having enough votes, potentially, to vote something like that through.
“Wages are the cost which runs away.
“It isn’t so much the transfer spending, it’s the wages and the salaries.

Liverpool star whose value’s dropped 80% has been even worse than Keita
BY
ANGUS SINCLAIR
PUBLISHED 2 HOURS AGO
Jurgen Klopp has hit the mark so many times but this “staggering” star has left much to be desired.
Over time, Liverpool supporters have come to trust Jurgen Klopp’s judgement in the transfer market, with the illustrious Premier League outfit often delving down a shrewder road than their rivals when improving the squad.
While staple members Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk were signed for lofty figures, deals for iconic Klopp stars such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Joel Matip – certainly not an exhaustive list – were welcomed for bargain sums in today’s jaw-dropping landscape.
The remarkable accuracy in the transfer market has left certain rivals rueing their own lack of discernment and has been the foundation of the Reds’ success under Klopp’s wing.
But it hasn’t always gone well and there are a few deals littered throughout the German’s tenure that are best left in distant memory.
Indeed, three-and-a-half years ago Liverpool ventured to sign Thiago Alcantara, long considered one of Europe’s superlative centre-midfielders, though the Spain international’s time on Merseyside has been marred by an incredible series of injury problems.
Liverpool’s signing of Thiago Alcantara
It was 2020 and Liverpool were preparing for the eventuality of Gini Wijnaldum’s sale; the Dutchman has one year remaining on his current contract and renewal looked unlikely. A replacement was needed.
Wijnaldum would indeed move to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer one year later but FSG moved to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich and wrapped up a deal for a fee rising to £25m.
Long regarded as a “magnificent” footballer with “outstanding technique” – as was once said by Phillip Lahm – the La Masia youth graduate had won honours in abundance throughout a glittering career, notably gleaning the Champions League with both Bayern and Barcelona, and his acquisition looked a no-brainer for a heavy metal Liverpool side transitioning toward a style with a tad more control and composure.
The one little concern was an unflattering injury record, but then there was hope that that wouldn’t present too large a quandary.
Thiago Alcantara’s Liverpool career so far
Thiago has completed 98 appearances for Liverpool and played a big role as Klopp chased a quadruple in 2021/22 – unsuccessfully, sure, but not without triumph in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
The £200k-per-week star enjoyed success that year and actually started 17 Premier League matches during that season, completing 89% of his passes and averaging 1.2 key passes, 1.9 tackles and 4.5 successful duels per fixture, as per Sofascore.
He was important last season but fell to injury in the new year and made his final Premier League start against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the beginning of February.
Yet to feature from the outset since Thiago made his anticipated return off the bench during Liverpool’s recent defeat against title rivals Arsenal, but got fans groaning after bewildering news that he had suffered a hamstring issue.
These incessant problems have caused the player’s transfer value to plummet, with Football Transfers recording Thiago’s current value at just £4m, which marks an 80% decrease – such has been the enormity of his decline.

Once praised for his “staggering” talents by pundit and former Liverpool man Michael Owen, Thiago has enjoyed some fine moments but all too often has watched on in shadowed obscurity as his confreres fight for honours.
He’s not been the most expensive addition during Klopp’s reign and while he carries the patina of a wisened and cultured veteran, he has been unable to strut his stuff with the slightest bit of regularity, and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will get more than a sliver out of his services before the end of the campaign.
Worse than Naby Keita
They say that availability is the best ability, and while this is worn-out phrasing it certainly speaks a truth regarding Thiago’s Liverpool career.
Endowed with such scintillating technical ability and tactical intelligence that allows him to control matches with remarkable ease, Thiago is comfortably one of the best players to perform under Klopp at Liverpool, when going off raw quality alone.
However, raw quality is only one of many important facets down a winding path toward success and the 32-year-old’s startling inability to maintain fitness has ravaged any hopes of etching his name into Premier League lore for his feats on the pitch.
This is not the first time Reds supporters have been led to get excited by a high-profile addition to the midfield, with Naby Keita’s £53m acquisition back in 2018 supposed to be a game-changing move during Liverpool’s primitive face under Klopp, who dubbed the Guinean “the complete midfielder.”

In a similar decline, Keita managed only stuttering glimpses of the quality that prompted Klopp to grant such an expensive outlay, scoring 11 goals and supplying seven assists across 129 fixtures in all competitions for the Anfield side but, given that he completed five campaigns in England, this averages out to a measly 26 appearances per term.
To put that in perspective, Mohamed Salah averaged 51 games per season during the same period.
Like Thiago, Keita is among Europe’s most naturally talented midfielders and has even been hailed for his “world-class” attributes by Virgil van Dijk in the past, but given that the former has reaped lucrative rewards across both German and Spanish pitches, it’s hard to feel more aggrieved by Keita’s struggles.
The end date draws ever closer and it’s very hard to imagine a world where Thiago, who turns 33 in two months exactly, pens new terms and has another shot at crafting a successful campaign for himself.
There’s a wistful air surrounding these closing months of Thiago’s Liverpool career and it will very much go down as a transfer that offered some lovely, influential moments but ultimately failed to deliver even a portion of the goods.
Klopp’s sweeping changes to the midfield last summer have allayed any fears that Thiago’s exit might be detrimental but it is a real shame nonetheless. He’s one of the finest footballers around.

Liverpool youngster Kieran Morrison is set to sign a new contract with the Reds, and it looks like that’s very welcome news indeed for the Merseyside giants as he’d been attracting interest from elsewhere.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Morrison’s new deal is nearly done, but he’d also been attracting interest from English and German clubs, so it’s clear that he’s already well known and highly regarded elsewhere.
Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Romano explained that there was interest in Morrison but that a new deal at Anfield looks to be agreed and almost completed.
The transfer news expert added that he’s not yet clear what Liverpool’s plans are for Morrison in terms of a possible first-team place in the near future, or perhaps a loan spell away from the club.
The 17-year-old looks to have an exciting future ahead of him, but these decisions will have to be made a bit later as LFC are set to have a new manager and sporting director in place soon.

Opinion: Why 25-year-old midfielder is the signing of the season
10 hours ago
“Liverpool talent Kieran Morrison is set to sign a new three-year deal at the club despite being linked with move away last summer. The highly-rated young midfielder, born in 2006, has verbally agreed to new contract. It will soon be time to review documents and then announce,” Romano said.
“English and German clubs wanted him before this agreement, so it looks like a good move by Liverpool to secure his future. In terms of what happens next, whether he gets a chance in the first-team or goes out on loan, this is not something clear now, we will see next season with new manager and with new director what they decide to do in terms of loan and similar. Now the mission was his contract extension; and it’s done.”

FABRIZIO ROMANO: LIVERPOOL’S NEXT BIG THING SIGNS DEAL

LIVERPOOL’S BRIGHT FUTURE: KIERAN MORRISON COMMITS TO ANFIELD
In the bustling world of football, where talent is the currency of success, Liverpool FC stand on the brink of securing its wealth for years to come. Kieran Morrison, a gem unearthed within the club’s youth ranks, is poised to pen a new deal, ensuring his future remains at Anfield. This development, brought to light by transfer enthusiast Fabrizio Romano, heralds a significant moment for both the player and the club.
RISING STAR: MORRISON’S JOURNEY
Morrison, a midfielder with an attacking prowess, has been turning heads since his under-18 debut, an impressive feat achieved before his 16th birthday. His journey to Liverpool is a tale of dedication and skill; from his early days developed at Manchester United to his critical role in Liverpool’s academy. Representing Northern Ireland at under-19 level, Morrison’s path mirrors that of Conor Bradley, showcasing the depth of talent hailing from the region.
CHANGE OF HEART
Previously rumoured to be eyeing a move away, Morrison has evidently seen the value in continuing his growth under the tutelage of Liverpool’s coaching staff. A verbal agreement is reportedly in place, with an official announcement on the horizon. This decision marks a pivotal chapter in Morrison’s career, as he cements his place within a club renowned for nurturing young talent into world-class athletes.
IMPACTFUL PERFORMANCES
Morrison’s influence within the youth squad is undeniable. His standout performance against Middlesbrough, where he netted a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory, underlines his potential and ability to step up when the team needs him most. Academy coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson praises Morrison’s versatility and form, stating, “He has had a nice four or five weeks, including the international break as he did really well with Northern Ireland, so he is in a nice run of form.” Such adaptability and consistency are traits that Liverpool values highly, hinting at a bright future for Morrison at Anfield.
VERSATILE TALENT
Morrison’s capability to play across various positions offers Liverpool a valuable asset. From central roles to both flanks, his flexibility allows the coaching staff to utilise him effectively according to the team’s needs. This versatility, combined with his recent form, suggests that Morrison is finding his footing, poised to make a significant impact on the first team in the near future.
As Liverpool secure Morrison’s commitment, the club not only retain a promising talent but also reinforce their vision for the future. With Morrison at Anfield, the Reds’ legacy of developing and nurturing young talent continues to thrive, promising exciting times ahead for the club and its supporters.

Vincent Kompany felt Burnley were unlucky as they fell to a 3-1 defeat away at Liverpool on Saturday.
Goals from Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez earned all three points for the Reds as Jurgen Klopp’s side reclaimed top spot in the Premier League table from Manchester City – Kompany’s former club – after they had beaten Everton earlier in the day.
The Clarets had a number of chances at Anfield but were unable to add to Dara O’Shea’s initial equaliser on the stroke of half-time. And while pleased with his relegation-threatened team’s performance, Kompany conceded that Liverpool had punished their mistakes.
“I’ve been to this place myself as a player quite a few times, where, in a game, we didn’t have as many chances as we did today,” he said. “The game plan for us is always the same when we go to these types of places.

“You need a little bit of luck on your side. We didn’t have that despite the performance. And you need to put away your chances. And we didn’t do that, despite the performance.
“These teams at this level have the quality to punish your every mistake. It’s a team with a lot of quality. It’s a stadium and crowd with a lot of history and passion for the team. That’s always tough.
“For as much as we came to play our own game, we did really well in that environment and that is something positive to take for sure. It should give us the belief to carry on.
“Liverpool, we’ve played them twice. City, we’ve played them twice. You’ve got to play them all but there’s enough in our performances to believe we can get results
“I’ll take the positives out of the game but I can’t hide the fact that we would have liked to have had the result of course.”

Jurgen Klopp confirms new knee injury for Trent Alexander-Arnold
By Ben Knapton, Senior Reporter | 3h
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold was withdrawn at half time in the Reds’ 3-1 win over Burnley due to a knee injury.
After being knocked off their Premier League perch by Manchester City earlier in the day, Klopp’s side returned to the summit with a hard-fought beating of the Clarets in front of a record-breaking Anfield crowd.
Alexander-Arnold was the provider for the hosts’ opener in the 31st minute, delivering the corner which Diogo Jota nodded home to give Liverpool the lead, earning himself a place in the record books in the process.
By setting up the Portuguese for the deadlock-breaker, Alexander-Arnold registered his 58th assist in the Premier League, more than any other defender in the history of the competition.
However, the right-back’s afternoon was cut short as he failed to emerge for the second half, with Harvey Elliott taking his place, raising alarm bells of a second injury in quick succession.
Alexander-Arnold has already missed a few weeks of action in 2024 due to the hyperextension of his knee that he suffered against Arsenal, and Klopp confirmed after the contest that the defender had experienced pain in the same area.
While Alexander-Arnold apparently professed that he was fit to continue, Liverpool were not prepared to take a risk with their vice-captain, as Klopp told Sky Sports News: “Same area in the knee.
“Nothing really bad, but he felt it again and we have to see, we have to assess it. Trent said it’s fine, but it’s not fine [because] he feels it so we had to be careful and took him off.”
Prior to Alexander-Arnold’s withdrawal, Liverpool were pegged back in the 45th minute of the clash with the Clarets, who went into the break on level terms thanks to Dara O’Shea’s header.
However, in a game dominated by aerial excellence, two more headers from Liverpool shirts decided the contest in the Reds’ favour, as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez both breached James Trafford’s goal.
Nearly 60,000 supporters – 59,896 to be exact – took their seats to witness the Reds’ success thanks to the expansion of the Anfield Road Stand, and Klopp was in awe to see Liverpool history being made on Merseyside.
“Outstanding, oh my God! Before I really heard it I saw it already [and] it looks exceptional, it looks absolutely exceptional. This stadium grew and grew,” Klopp added. “It was always wonderful but now it’s really outrageously wonderful. Really top, really top, really loud in the right moments.
“I know it’s a game [where] there were tricky moments and then it’s difficult to be on your toes… but it’s all good and I am really happy that we have them now finally back, it gives a lot of people the opportunity to see this wonderful team playing football.”
Liverpool have a full week to recover from their Burnley exploits before they kick off next weekend’s Premier League action, travelling to Brentford for the lunchtime kickoff on February 17.

Jurgen Klopp says £20m Liverpool player’s calmness was so important v Burnley
Jurgen Klopp has lauded the performance of his goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher today after Liverpool beat Burnley.
The Reds scored twice in the second 45 minutes to record a 3-1 win and make it back to the top of the table after Man City had won earlier in the day.
For Liverpool, getting those three points was massive and Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota once again came up with the goals to help them over the line.
However, speaking about others in his team, Jurgen Klopp felt it was the performance of stand-in goalkeeper Kelleher that deserved a mention.
Jurgen Klopp praises Caoimhin Kelleher
Kelleher was asked to come into the team to fill in for Alisson Becker, who pulled out of the team at the last minute.
And speaking to Liverpool’s official media channels after the game, Klopp felt Kelleher’s calmness was vital for his team in big moments.
“Burnley gave problems and we had to score at the right moments. We needed Caoimhín Kelleher as it was a really good game for him. He was calm on the ball for us,” Klopp said.
Kelleher would start for most other teams
Well, outside of the top six anyway, in the main. Kelleher is a top quality goalkeeper and there is a reason why Liverpool demanded around £20m to even consider selling in the summer.
Any goalkeeper stepping into the shoes of Alisson is always going to have pressure and Kelleher dealt with things very well today when Burnley did threaten.
Over a season, it can’t be understated how important having a top number two is and it showed for Liverpool today.
At the end of the day, it is about winning as a squad and Kelleher has come in, done the business, and helped his team to three points.
Klopp, then, knows full well he can trust his number two in the future.

Chris Sutton says one Liverpool player made a ‘terrible error’ against Burnley
Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah made a “terrible error” in Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Burnley, according to Chris Sutton.
In the 65th minute of the Anfield clash, the Reds were very nearly caught out at the back after a poor attempt at a headed clearance by the 20-year-old.
Quansah went to cushion down a James Trafford goal kick, but David Fofana blocked the ball and then got past him to go clean through on goal.
Luckily for the Liverpool youngster, Caoimhin Kelleher pulled off a great save against the Burnley forward, before Wilson Odobert fired wide from the rebound.
“Burnley should be level,” Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live, via the BBC Sport website. “Quansah makes a terrible error and Kelleher makes a brilliant save from Fofana.”
Besides that error, Quansah was solid for the most part, and even came close to getting on the scoresheet a bit later on in the match.
In the 72nd minute, Burnley failed to clear the first ball from a corner. It dropped to Quansah on the turn and he struck the ball with an effort that went just past the post.
Karim Adeyemi says 24-year-old Liverpool target is the best player he’s ever played against
Karim Adeyemi has given an interesting answer when asked to name the best player he’s ever played against.
The Borussia Dortmund attacker has played against some of the best players in the world in the Champions League and the Bundesliga in recent years.
Adeyemi has seen them all from Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League this year to Harry Kane in Der Klassiker in the Bundesliga.
However, according to Adeyemi, the best player he’s ever come up against is none other than Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
Speaking to 11TeamSports on Tiktok, the German stated that Araujo is indeed the best player he’s ever come up against.
Interestingly, this comes not long after reports that Liverpool were looking to sign the 24-year-old defender.

“Araujo,” The striker replied
Incredible
It doesn’t take a genius to see why Adeyemi has given this answer.
Araujo is a top class defender, and for a player like Adeyemi, he’s an absolute nightmare.
Adeyemi, with all due respect, relies a lot on his speed to beat his man, but Araujo is one of few defenders in world football who can match him in a race.
The Uruguayan is absolutely rapid in his own right, and when you combine that with an incredible footballing mind and immense strength, you have a seriously good player.
There’s a reason Liverpool are keen to add Araujo to their ranks, he’s a quality centre-back who would complement their style brilliantly.
Of course, whether or not that move comes to fruition or not remains to be seen. After all, we don’t even know who will be managing Liverpool next season, but if Araujo does come in, he would be a fantastic addition to this Liverpool side.
