It’s fair to say the mood around Liverpool is a buoyant one right now after they made it seven straight winsednesday nighLiverpool Soccer - Liverpool News, Scores, Stats, Rumors & More | ESPN.

The Reds’ 3-1 win against Leicester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup was their fifth by that scoreline already this season and Jurgen Klopp’s side are now without defeat since the loss at Manchester City way back on April 1, which is 19 matches in total.

Ahead of Saturday’s huge visit to Tottenham Hotspur, the ECHO’s LFC correspondent Paul Gorst brings you all the latest off-diary bits in our latest Liverpool Notebook

For those who champion a ‘new-look Liverpool’, there’s been one very specific change at the Reds’ training ground that accurately sums that all up quite literally.

Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre is adorned with images and quotes on the walls of some of the greatest nights of the Jurgen Klopp era but one particular likeness of former captain Jordan Henderson has now been removed following his departure to Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia over the summer.

Where previously the picture was of Henderson clasping the Premier League trophy in 2020, in its place now is a picture of Trent Alexander-Arnold with the Champions League in hand alongside the quote: “I’m just a normal lad from Liverpool whose dreams have just come true.”

With Alexander-Arnold now officially appointed as the club’s vice-captain, the recognition of his achievements already, at the age of just 24, is a nice touch from the club as they continue going about breathing fresh life into the place both on and off the pitch.

Salah explains strapped wrist

Eagle-eyed Liverpool supporters have noticed Mohamed Salah has been wearing a protective strap around his right wrist of late.

The Egyptian had his hand bandaged up in the recent win over LASK in Austria before once more being wrapped for the Premier League success against West Ham United.

Questions have been asked as to the severity of the issue but it hasn’t stopped Salah remaining at his influential best given his performances against the Austrians and the Hammers last week.

Salah

, it is understood, landed on his wrist during a recent training session at the AXA Centre, but the Reds forward laughed off the problem during an interaction with reporters after the West Ham game, revealing that it is not causing him too much distress.

It’s unclear how long he will continue to play with extra padding around the hand but the No.11 was in good spirits when briefly discussing the injury after the match at the weekend.

The news that Fenway Sports Group have brought Dynasty Equity on board at Liverpool effectively means their search for external investment is over.

The club’s Boston-based owners have been scouring the market for a long time and had produced a sales pitch to seriously interested parties last year after appointing Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to assist with the process.

Nearly a year one from a first report claiming FSG were open to a full sale, the American group have now struck an agreement with New York-based Dynasty, with the deal understood to be worth between $100m and $200m.

The deal has been agreed with a view to clearing the club’s bank debt and it’s been stressed that the funds will not be used to service massive moves in the January transfer market or beyond.

That news might induce the rolling of eyes of many but in an era where plenty of non-State-funded clubs are running into serious and deep-seated gripes with their ownership, this feels like a progressive step for Fenway as they aim to restore Liverpool back to the heights enjoyed in recent years.

The deal is not viewed as the first stepping stone towards a sale and it’s been made clear that FSG remain wholly committed to the cause at Anfield as they approach their 13-year anniversary.

One of four unbeaten teams remaining in the Premier League – alongside us, Arsenal and City – Liverpool are on a run of 17 without defeat (won 12, draw five), the longest unbeaten run in Europe’s major leagues – including eight away matches. Interestingly, they’ve conceded first in their last three matches on the road (Newcastle, Wolves in the Premier League, LASK in the Europa League) and won the lot.
