Newcastle United ‘favourites’ for Arsenal star, Liverpool ‘close in’ on pricey deal and Man Utd …

A look at all the latest transfer rumours surrounding Premier League clubs as the summer window gets closer.

As a popular American sports host would say, ‘it’s the witching hour’ in the Premier League, with everything to be decided over the next week.

The long, testing season all comes down to this, and especially for those teams battling for survival and jostling for European qualification. The title race looks to be settled, sure, but there is still plenty to work out, and there are plenty of twists and turns to play out before the final whistle blows this season.

Attention will then turn quickly to the summer transfer window, but we have no shame in looking ahead to possible summer business already, and here we round up all the latest gossip doing the rounds.

Newcastle want Tierney

Newcastle United are said to be in prime position to sign Kieran Tierney, according to Football Insider.

It’s claimed the Scot could move on from Arsenal amid limited starts for the Gunners this season, and the Magpies find themselves in need of a left-back ahead of next season. Dan Burn has filled in, but Eddie Howe wants a stronger option on that side, and one that is able to provide an outlet, much like Kieran Tripper on the other side.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal place a premium on Tierney’s sale, given Newcastle will be looking to become title rivals at some stage in the not too distant future.

The 3AM verdict: This would be a wise move from Newcastle, who would be even more dangerous with two attacking full-backs between Tierney and Trippier. Though, there is an injury factor to keep in mind with Tierney. Having said that, the Scot has stayed fit this season, even if he hasn’t been tested with as many starts as he would have liked.

Antony exit talk

There are reports doing the rounds that United could allow Antony to leave the club just one year after they splashed out a huge fee to sell him.

Fichajes via Football365 say the Red Devils may already be willing to allow their £86million 2022 signing to move on. Antony has shown flashes, but he hasn’t exactly set the world alight in his first season. The problem is for United, they would need to find someone willing to pay more than £80million for Antony, and that does seem very unlikely after this season.

The 3AM verdict: This one should be taken with a grain of salt. Antony is still young, and it makes no sense to part ways with the Brazilian now. It was always going to take time for him to step up to the Premier League, and United would guarantee themselves a loss by selling. The winger may well go on to improve next season, and United can either make their money back at a later date or enjoy the rewards of developing a young signing.

Mac Allister deal ‘close’

Liverpool are said to be closing in on the signing of World Cup winner Alexis MacAllister.

Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister missed out on the starting XI for Albion at Newcastle

Football Insider claim the Reds are willing to pay Brighton a whopping £80million to snap up their talented midfielder. Liverpool need young, energetic reinforcements in their midfield, and it seems they have picked out Mac Allister as one of the players they want to add this summer. Reports in Argentina have also claimed that the Reds are heavy favourites.

The 3AM verdict: While the fee is a little crazy, it seems Liverpool do want Mac Allister, and the move seems a logical one given how much the Reds need to strengthen the middle of the park. Liverpool would be overpaying, but they do at least already know Mac Allister is ready to hit the ground running in the Premier League, given his performances for Brighton.

Sources: Everton hold talks for Liverpool old boy with Leeds, Sheff Utd also keen on free agent

Ryan Kent is in talks with a number of English clubs with Everton among those keen on his signing and hoping to bring him back to Merseyside, TEAMtalk understands.

The former Liverpool winger is out of contract at Rangers this summer and has made it clear to the Scottish giants that he is not signing a new deal.

The 26-year-old moved to Ibrox back on a permanent deal in summer 2019, having impressed while on loan. Now in his fifth season for Gers, he has scored 33 times in 218 appearances.

Kent also has 28 assists during that time, meaning he has a goal involvement every 3.5 appearances for Rangers.

However, the player is now considering a number of approaches as he decides where to play next.

Kent has been offered a lucrative contract by Turkish giants Fenerbahce, with the winger seemingly close to an agreement.

However, before putting pen to paper in Turkey, TEAMtalk has been told that he has been assessing all options available to him.

And we can reveal that a number of other options are also on the cards, with a host of English sides all in contention for his signature.

Everton hold Ryan Kent transfer talks

Sean Dyche’s Everton are among those who are keen, with a return to Merseyside a possible option.

However, the Toffees are far from his only suitors and a number of other clubs are keen.

Among them are Leeds United, who tried on multiple occasions to sign Kent during Marcelo Bielsa’s time in charge.

In addition, Bournemouth are keen to bring Kent to the south coast, with former Liverpool teammate Dominic Solake a Cherries regular.

We understand there is also competition from newly-promoted duo Burnley and Sheffield United, who are all understood to have had talks in the last few weeks.
