Liverpool think they have a player who has the same qualities as Mo Salah

Liverpool reportedly think that Ben Doak is showing similar qualities already to Mohamed Salah after appearing for the senior team this season.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds have high hopes for the 17-year-old winger after Doak this week signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool.

The teenager started for the Anfield side against LASK, replacing Salah in the starting XI from the side that beat Wolves the previous weekend in the Premier League.

Whilst very much at the start of his Liverpool career, Doak’s potential is clear to see, and there’s a good chance that the winger could actually replace Salah at the club.

The 31-year-old is expected to leave for Saudi Arabia next year, and with Doak already establishing himself as Salah’s replacement at Liverpool, it’s no wonder why this theory is now going around.

And with Liverpool now believing Doak to have the same qualities as Salah, there’s every chance that we can see more from the winger in the coming weeks in both Europe and in the Premier League.

Doak is arguably the most exciting talent Liverpool have had on their hands since Trent Alexander-Arnold, and whilst talk of replacing Salah is big, it could be justified.

The teenager is in for a massive year under Jurgen Klopp, and come the start of next year, Doak could be ready to take on a starting position if Salah is to leave.

The Egyptian will leave some big shoes when his time at Anfield comes to an end, and Doak could be the player to fill them if he can hit his stride this season.

‘Like having three players’: Pundit says Liverpool now have a player in their ranks who is like N’Golo Kante

It’s safe to say that Liverpool midfielder N’Golo Kante has made quite the impression since arriving at Anfield this summer.

The Hungarian midfielder very much looks the business in his early days as a Red. Indeed, the £60m splashed out by Liverpool looks a good bit of business as it stands.

And speaking to The Mirror today, former Red Emile Heskey has admitted to being really impressed by just how comfortable Szoboszlai looks.

Speaking about Liverpool’s midfield and Szoboszlai in particular, Heskey made the comment about how the now departed Henderson used to be like Liverpool’s version of N’Golo Kante.

And speaking on Szoboszlai, Heskey hinted that’s what the new Reds midfielder feels like to him.

“He looks comfortable, and that’s one of the things with any new signing, if you can get them feeling as comfortable as possible as quickly as you can that’s what you’ll get.

“He’s very energetic and he can do box-to-box. We haven’t seen that since Jordan Henderson when he was really at his peak. With age he changed, but at his peak he was very much energy, box-to-box, it was like having three players. Kind of Kante-esque. That’s the sort of player you need,” Heskey said.

Szoboszlai has very much cemented himself as a key player already in the Liverpool midfield.

RTK’s View: What a signing

Getting the midfield right this summer was always going to be massive for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

And in Dominik Szoboszlai, it definitely looks like we have signed a potential superstar.

The midfielder looks the business and over time, he’s only going to get better and better. Szoboszlai can do a bit of everything and over time, could probably do even more than Henderson.
