Liverpool Is Close To Finalizing Deal With€45 Million Rated Defender–CHECK OUT THE DETAILS

Le Parisien, as reported by GetFootball, claims that Liverpool is keen on signing Goncalo Inacio. The 21-year-old defender is highly sought after by prominent European teams due to his status as one of the finest in the Portuguese league.

Back in the summer of 2012, Inacio signed up with Sporting CP. He worked his way up through the club’s system and is now a mainstay in the first squad. The 21-year-old has been outstanding in the Portuguese team’s defence for over three years.

He has received a lot of praise for his constant play for Sporting. The Portuguese club is so invested in keeping him that they’ve already offered him a new deal with more pay. The player’s departure from the club is expected to take place in the summer. Sporting has priced its best defender at €45 million. So they are well aware of the problem. One of the teams interested in signing him is Paris Saint-Germain. In preparation for the forthcoming transfer window, the French club is actively seeking to strengthen their roster.

What’s the matter?

Luis Campos, their sports adviser, is eager to have Inacio on board. Reports, however, indicate that they are now ranked behind Liverpool. The team from Liverpool has contacted their Portuguese counterparts about acquiring the 21-year-old defender. The summer transfer window will be a hectic time for Liverpool as they attempt to rebuild. The current season has been a rough one for Jurgen Klopp’s team. So they’re looking to improve for next year.

Their first objective is to add more players to the middle. But they also need a left-footed central defender to play with Virgil van Dijk. Klopp is looking to add to his roster since Joe Gomez hasn’t been performing up to par this season. It would be intriguing to see whether Liverpool can sign the 21-year-old Portuguese international after they have already begun negotiations with his agency.

Goncalo Inacio, a 21-year-old centre defender for Sporting CP, is a player Liverpool would want to add for the next season

While Jürgen Klopp waits to add quality midfielders to his Liverpool squad, rumours continue to circulate today about two players who play in that position potentially moving to Anfield. Liverpool still has four games to play before the summer transfer window begins, starting with Brentford on Saturday before taking on Leicester City (away), Aston Villa (home), and Southampton (away).

The Reds will need to be active in the market to get back to the sort of club they want to be. If that is secured, transfer moves could become simpler (and definitely the cash would be freed up a bit).

Liverpool vs Man City – WSL preview: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

Liverpool have another chance to prove their worth as disruptors in the WSL title race this weekend when Manchester City come to town.

Matt Beard’s Reds gave champions Chelsea quite the scare in midweek, taking the lead early on at Kingsmeadow and only falling to a defeat courtesy of an 87th-minute goal from Sam Kerr.

That result was to the detriment of Man City, who are now only a point ahead of the Blues but have played two games more.

Gareth Taylor’s side still remain three points behind table-topping Man Utd and will almost certainly need to have a perfect record until the end of the season to stand a chance in their quest for top spot.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of this one.

Beard has confirmed that Leanne Kiernan is back in contention having missed much of the season with an ankle injury. Captain Niamh Fahey is expected to return, too.

At his pre-match press conference, he was also able to provide updates on Ceri Holland, Fuki Nagano, Yana Daniels and Megan Campbell.

“We’ll check on Ceri today with her neck. Fuka, we’ll assess again today; she should be available,” Beard began.

“Niamh trained on Tuesday and Leanne Kiernan trained on Tuesday. They’ll both be in today and training tomorrow, so hopefully they will be available for selection.

“I don’t know how long they’ll be available for but it’s great just to have them back on the training pitch and in and around the girls.

“I think Yana and Meg will both be out and, as I said, we just need to assess Ceri’s neck today.”

Taylor revealed at his own press conference that Mary Fowler will be assessed late on Friday after she suffered a heavy fall against Reading last week.

Alanna Kennedy is nearing a return to action but it is more likely to come once this fixture is in the books.

Though Liverpool put up a tremendous fight against Chelsea and their form from March through to April was generally impressive, they remain totally mired in the bottom half for a reason and relied on that run to escape the relegation scramble.

Man City have been ruthless for much of the WSL season and have scored ten goals in their last two games alone, though were beaten in their last two away games and need to rediscover that formidable touch on the road.

Prediction: Liverpool 0-2 Man City

Official: Teenage defender signs new long-term contract at Liverpool

Liverpool youngster Luke Chambers has signed a new long-term contract

Young Liverpool defender Luke Chambers has signed a new contract with the club to extend his stay here for the coming years.

Chambers, who arrived at Liverpool at the age of six, has developed well as a youth player in the past couple of years.

The 18-year-old is predominantly a left-back who can operate as a centre-back as well. He made his U18s debut during the 2020/21 season and was part of the England U19 European Championship-winning squad last summer.

After making a bench appearance for a couple of senior games in the first of this season, Chambers was sent on loan to Scottish side Kilmarnock in January, where he has made 11 appearances so far, assisting a goal.

As of now, Liverpool are stacked in the left-back department with Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas sharing minutes. However, in a couple of years, the former will turn 31 and may need to be phased out because fullbacks do not play at the elite level till 35, or 36 these days.

The best case scenario for Chambers would be to go on another loan next season, gain proper first-team experience and challenge for a spot in the team during the 2024 pre-season. The 18-year-old’s versatility could be vital for the Reds going forward.

Liverpool are anyway expected to be busy in the coming window, with the midfield reshuffle on the cards. Paul Joyce of the Times has reported that Jurgen Klopp is looking at signing two or three midfielders.

Alexis Mac Allister, Mason Mount and Ryan Gravenberch are on top of that list. There are many more names linked as well and we have to make sure that we sign players that strengthen right now rather than just bringing in prospects for the future.
