Liverpool ‘agree terms’ with £140m Napoli midfielder who has snubbed Man Utd and and Psg to finalise move to Anfield medical done
According to reports, Manchester United target Andre has “agreed terms” with Liverpool and he’s keen to finalise a move to the Premier League giants.
Liverpool’s priority this summer has been to strengthen in midfield and they have spent over £100m to bring in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo.
They are not stopping there, though. Jurgen Klopp’s side remain in the market for a new defensive midfielder following Fabinho’s exit.
The Premier League outfit are being heavily linked with Crystal Palace standout Cheick Doucoure but they also have Andre on their radar.
Liverpool have been consistently linked with the Fluminense midfielder over the past couple of months and it was claimed last week that the Reds have ‘revived’ their interest in the 22-year-old.
It has also been reported that Liverpool are willing to go as high as £25.8m to sign Andre, who is under contract until the end of 2026.
Brazilian journalist Emmanuel Luiz has now told RedmenTV that Man Utd have also been in for Andre, but the Red Devils have been informed that he has “personal terms agreed with Liverpool”.
“Manchester United went to Andre’s camp to talk to them about a possible negotiation. What they said [was] the player has personal terms agreed with Liverpool, personal already agreed. That’s done,” Luiz told RedmenTV.
“The player said to Fluminense, the situation today – I called some guys close to Andre – and they said to me, Andre said to Fluminense ‘I want to go to Liverpool, I want to go, I have personal terms agreed’. That’s fine but what Fluminense said [was] we are not going to say right now because of the Copa Libertadores [which does not end until November] that we already know.
“So Andre said ‘I’m going to talk to them [Liverpool].”

Liverpool are also in the race to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat but Man Utd are set to make a bid for him this week.
Klopp recently admitted to reporters that Liverpool “will keep looking” for new players before the transfer window closes.
“I sit here and I’m really happy with our transfer window in the moment,” Klopp told reporters.
“I know how football fans are and I know they would prefer a £110m player, or £150m or whatever your club can do. That is nice, but in the end the pitch is the same size. The player will not grow with the price he has, it’s rather the other way around.
“We will keep watching, we will keep looking, we will try with all we have to make the best decisions for this club.”

Joel Matip says Dominik Szoboszlai can help Liverpool score more goals from set-pieces this season.
Szoboszlai is the talk of the town this week, having played brilliantly against Bournemouth on Saturday. Throughout pre-season, we also saw the damage his corner kicks in particular can do.
And speaking in Liverpool’s Matchday Programme via Liverpool Echo, Matip suggested that he’d noticed just how good the Hungarian’s dead ball deliveries are.
“I think it is normal before a season to lose some players and sign some new ones,” began the 32-year-old. “We lost a lot of quality, but we also received some amazing players. Everybody needs to step in now to fill the gaps now that some players have left and I am looking forward to this. I feel confident we can do this.
“We always had some great set-piece takers, but with Dominik we have got so much additional quality. Maybe he can slot into the team and then we’ve got even more options from set-pieces.”

Greenwood U-turn decided after Man Utd ‘crisis meeting’ as staff ‘discussed resigning’ in protes
According to reports, Manchester United were initially planning to bring Mason Greenwood back but they made a U-turn after a ‘crisis meeting’ on Friday.
It was announced on Monday afternoon that Greenwood and Man Utd have mutually agreed that the 21-year-old will continue his career elsewhere.
Greenwood has been suspended by the Premier League giants since January 2020 as he was facing charges relating to attempted rape and assault.
These charges were dropped at the start of this year as the Crown Prosecution Service ruled that there was no longer a realistic chance of conviction due to the withdrawal of key witnesses and new information that emerged in relation to the case.
Before deciding whether Greenwood will continue with Man Utd, they started their own internal investigation and The Athletic reported last week that they were planning to reintegrate him.
The Athletic are now reporting that ‘backlash across season-ticket holders, fans, supporters’ groups, members of parliament and even charities that support female victims of abuse had combined to force a rethink’ by Friday (18th) afternoon. The report adds.
‘That same evening, United’s most senior decision-makers engaged in crisis meetings. Very quickly, despite a plan for reintegration that had gone through more than a dozen iterations, the only questions that remained centred on the next steps as United weighed up an exit strategy.
‘They debated whether to loan out or sell Greenwood, or attempt to cut ties with the 21-year-old altogether — though this would present legal challenges given the club do not consider, following the findings of an internal investigation, that they have grounds to terminate his contract. In the end, the club confirmed on Monday that they would work with the player to continue his career elsewhere and the club say they do not expect an eventuality where a loan move leads to the player representing United again in the future.’

‘A loan move away from the club would allow United to retain commercial control of a footballer who, before his arrest in January 2022, was widely deemed to be the best young forward in English football. This would either be with a view to selling Greenwood further down the line if he can restore his value on the field, or hypothetically, to one day bring him back to Old Trafford, but the club insist they do not expect this to happen.
‘Talks culminated in a U-turn as the public pressure surrounding the decision became intolerable for some of the club’s most senior executives.’
The report later states that Man Utd found themselves ‘in the midst of a public relations crisis, both internally and externally’. They add.
‘Some employees felt appalled by the club’s plans around Greenwood and United executives held multiple intense meetings with staff. Some had discussed resigning in the event United brought Greenwood back. Others started to research how to go on strike.
‘The crisis meetings involved United executives seeking to justify a return for Greenwood to staff, while also claiming no final decision had been made, which reiterates how determined United’s executive had become to see through the plan.’
