Jurgen Klopp Divorced His Wife Immediately he Was Sacked From Being Liverpool Coach

Jose Mourinho predicts who will win the Premier League title this season

We have an exciting Premier League title race on our hands, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal right in the thick of it and Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa not too far behind.

Jurgen Klopp‘s Reds currently top the standings with 54 points, while Pep Guardiola‘s Citizens and Mikel Arteta‘s Gunners are just two points behind.

Further back, Ange Postecoglou‘s Spurs are fourth on 47 points, while Unai Emery‘s Villans are fifth with 46 points. And a lot can change in the space of a few matchdays.

Jose Mourinho has now given his prediction as to who’ll win the Premier League title. And for the legendary Portuguese manager, it’s a hard call between two teams.

Mourinho was interviewed by Rio Ferdinand and Stephen Howson on FIVE, the former asking the 61-year-old who he felt would win the English top-flight title.

He replied: “Premier League… City? Liverpool? So like that I’m not I’m not making a mistake. City, Liverpool, but I think City.”

Jose Mourinho goes for Manchester City ahead of Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa
Let’s face it, City are the favourites for the Premier League title at present. They have won it five times in the last six years and their squad remains packed with quality and strength in depth.

Barcelona think £34m Liverpool player is now the best in his position in the world

As we slowly start to move towards the summer transfer window, rumours are swirling around Liverpool.

From claims that Kylian Mbappe has explored a move to Anfield, to suggestions that Virgil van Dijk could leave. It’s set to be a busy time for the Reds after Jurgen Klopp leaves.

Perhaps the most tedious of all those sagas is the discussion over Mohamed Salah’s future. Salah has been excellent again for Liverpool this season but the suggestions that it’s his last at the club haven’t gone away.

Largely, that talk has centred on the possibility of the Egyptian moving to the Saudi Pro League. However, Mundo Deportivo today report that Salah is actually being looked at by Barcelona.

The La Liga giants are said to be looking for a wide forward and have reportedly identified Liverpool’s No.11 as the absolute best option on either wing.

However, as much as they love Mo, there’s a problem. Barcelona simply cannot afford to sign him. Instead, they are claimed to be more realistically looking at Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Napoli

Barca priced out of Salah move
There was a time when a Liverpool player being linked with Barcelona would have sent fear coursing through every supporter.

When Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez heard a whiff of interest from Catalonia, for example, they couldn’t wait to jump ship. It felt like the Reds simply couldn’t compete.

MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Fast forward just a few short years though, and the landscape is now very different.

Given their financial situation, Barca are hardly really a threat anymore. There can’t be a person alive who seriously thinks that they can afford Salah right now.

At one time, that may not have even mattered. Such was the pull of the Camp Nou, they could attract the best players around despite their accounts being in a bit of a mess.

But now, they don’t really have a whole lot going for them. Fourth in La Liga and set to be without a manager this summer, they can no longer even wheel out Lionel Messi as a big old carrot. There’s been talk that they could even lose hot prospect Lamine Yamal to the Reds.

They’ll surely be back at some stage, but for the time being Barcelona are not at the top, top table of European football. .

It could of course be argued that neither are Liverpool just now. Set to lose Klopp, uncertainty surrounds their future as a superpower on the continent.

Nevertheless, Anfield is still by far and away a better place for Salah to be. The £34m man may end up being lost to Saudi Arabia, but that’s a whole different story. He’s not going to Barcelona.

Maple Leafs’ Morgan Rielly suspended five games for cross-checking Senators’ Ridly Greig

Watch Now:
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly has been suspended five games after cross-checking Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig in the head on Saturday night. Rielly was retaliating after Greig fired a slapshot into the Maple Leafs’ empty net for a 4-2 win.

With a handful of seconds left on the clock, Greig cruised into the Toronto zone before winding up and hammering a shot into the open net. Rielly took issue with that, and he confronted Greig. In doing so, Rielly raised his stick and cross-checked Greig in the face.

Greig immediately went to the ice as a scrum broke out in the Maple Leafs’ zone.

Upon reviewing the play, the NHL Department of Player Safety decided to suspend Rielly for five games. In their explanation video, the Department of Player Safety noted that the players weren’t “mutually jousting” with both accepting some degree of risk.

“This play occurs well after the goal has been scored late in the game with the score out of reach and for the sole purpose of retribution,” the NHL said in its explanation. “While we acknowledge Rielly’s argument that his stick does make some contact with Greig’s body before striking Greig in the head, this is not a case in which a stick that is raised to an excusable level is significantly deflected up and into the head and neck area.”

Rielly, the Maple Leafs’ top defenseman, served the first game of his suspension on Tuesday night when Toronto defeated the St. Louis Blues, 4-1. Rielly, who has 43 points in 50 games, will also miss games against the Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks, Blues, and Arizona Coyotes.

Liverpool, Man City Learn Fee Needed To Complete Stunning Arsenal Raid As Record-breaking Price Tag Emerges
Liverpool, Man City learn fee needed to complete stunning Arsenal raid as record-breaking price tag emerges

Liverpool and Man City have found out how much Bukayo Saka will cost

Liverpool and Manchester City have discovered they must obliterate the Premier League transfer record to sign Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka, with the Gunners reportedly handing him a massive new price tag.

Saka is a product of the Arsenal academy who made his senior debut in November 2018. The right winger has since emerged into arguably Arsenal’s most important player, with his first-team record standing at 52 goals and 53 assists in 210 appearances.

That includes 13 goals and 13 assists in 31 games so far this season, with Saka helping Arsenal challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title while also reaching the Champions League round of 16.

Saka loves Arsenal and is thoroughly enjoying his time with the North London club, though that has not stopped him from being linked with some of their fierce English rivals.

Liverpool and Man City are understood to be the main clubs who would bid for Saka, should Arsenal suddenly go downhill and struggle to match his huge ambitions.

Liverpool in particular are the club to watch out for, as they are big fans of the England star and might be in need of a new right winger if Mo Salah departs in the summer.

DON’T MISS: Man City ‘enquiry’ for five-star Liverpool target revealed after big Premier League transfer miss

Football Insider have now provided an update on Saka’s situation at the Emirates. They state that Arsenal chiefs have been delighted by the wide man’s ‘stratospheric rise’ in recent years and feel he is now the second-most valuable player in England, behind only City striker Erling Haaland.

Should Liverpool or City make contact for Saka’s possible capture, then Arsenal will tell them they must pay a Premier League-record fee as they will not accept anything less than £150-200million.

Bukayo Saka would be a costly signing
The top three most expensive Prem players currently are Moises Caicedo (£100m rising to £115m), Enzo Fernandez (£107m) and Saka’s Arsenal team-mate Declan Rice (£105m). Saka moving for that £200m figure would see him level Neymar as the most expensive player of all time, following the Brazilian’s colossal switch from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in August 2017.

This is clearly a massive amount of money for a club to spend on Saka, but Arsenal feel the asking price is very much justified. They think the 22-year-old would ‘walk into any team in the world’ and due to his age he is only going to get better.

Arsenal demanding £150-200m for Saka immediately rules Liverpool out of the race, as they would struggle to spend over £120m on a single player. Their record signing is Darwin Nunez (£64m rising to £85m), while they also bid £111m for Caicedo before losing out on him to Chelsea.

City do have the financial backing needed to part with such a monstrous sum. Although, they would rather spread out such money over two or three transfers, to ensure that several areas of the team are improved.
