How Man City have responded to Barcelona’s talks to sign Dani Olmo, personal terms are in place..

HITC sources have confirmed that Barcelona and RB Leipzig are locked in talks over the transfer of Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo.

Sources have told HITC that RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, who had an outstanding tournament at Euro 2024 with Spain, is keen on returning to Catalunya this summer.

Olmo has long been on the radar of Manchester City this summer and we can confirm that his representatives have kept the English champions informed of the situation – which is that he has now agreed personal terms with Barcelona.

As mentioned, Olmo had an outstanding tournament at Euro 2024 with Lamine Yamal claiming Olmo had an ‘aura’ throughout the tournament.

Manchester City yet to make a move for Dani Olmo
City, who are yet to make a big move in the summer transfer market, have not responded with a counteroffer for Olmo.

HITC has reported earlier this summer that they were keen on a midfielder with City interested in Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes but no move has yet been made for the Brazilian.

Matheus Nunes and Kalvin Phillips have been told they’re free to leave City as they try and make room for a potential midfield addition.

We had reported that City liked Olmo but had yet to make a move with the Premier League champions despite remaining informed about the situation of the attacking midfielder.

Barcelona leading the Olmo chase
Barcelona made Olmo and Nico Williams their top summer targets, but whilst talks with Athletic Bilbao are at a stand-still, they are progressing with Leipzig.

Williams is of interest to Liverpool and Arsenal but it is Barcelona who are leading the race for the exciting winger.

As for Olmo, Leipzig rejected an earlier offer worth around £50 million but it was not so much the fee but the make-up of the deal that the German side were not in agreement over.

HITC reported that Barca proposed paying nothing for Olmo until 2025 and then the rest of the transfer fee spread over five years including a number of options to make up the deal.

After seeing that offer for Olmo turned down, Barca are back in talks with Leipzig – who are ready to sell their Spanish star. Sources have told HITC that there is now a strong belief that terms for Olmo to move to the Camp Nou will be agreed.

Olmo was hailed by former manager Julian Nagelsmann for his ‘exceptional’ abilities on the ball when talking to BuliNews but, as of yet, City have yet to make a move for the Spaniard.
