GREAT NEWS:Tottenham has signed Brentford goalkeeper David Raya✅✅✅

Tottenham are in talks over signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

Standard Sport understands talks with the player over personal terms have progressed well and an agreement is expected.

Brentford are standing firm on a £40million asking price for Raya. Spurs are currently unwilling to meet that fee for a player who has just one year remaining on his contract.

It remains to be seen if an agreement between Tottenham and Brentford will be reached. Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the situation.

The Bees have already signed Raya’s replacement, with Mark Flekken arriving from Freiburg, and are reportedly ready to go into the season with the pair.

Tottenham are looking for a long-term replacement for captain Hugo Lloris, who recently declared his desire to leave the club after 11 years at the club.

He told French newspaper Nice-Matin last week: “We are coming to an important moment, whether for the club or for me. It’s the end of an era. I have desires for other things, I will ask myself quietly to study what will be possible.

“But I don’t forget that I still have a year of contract with Tottenham and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen. What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I’m on vacation but I continue to talk and do my training. My goal is to be on top in July, then we’ll see what the future holds.”

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been linked with a move for 24-year-old Brazilian defender Roger Ibanez.

According to a report from Giallorossi.net, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to fork out €20 million for Roger Ibanez this summer. It remains to be seen whether AS Roma are prepared to accept that kind of money for the Brazilian international.

Ibanez has been a key player for AS Roma, and they will want to recoup as much as possible for him. Apparently, they value the player at €40 million, but they could be willing to accept an offer of around €30-32 million this summer. However, Tottenham are looking to sign him for much less, at €20 million.

Spurs need to improve defensively, and Ibanez has emerged as a viable target to be a quality partner for Cristian Romero at the heart of their defence. The 24-year-old Brazilian international is versatile enough to play as a defensive midfielder as well, and he could prove to be a useful asset for Ange Postecoglou.

The Brazilian defender has already proven himself in Italy over the years, and he will be hoping to take the next step in his career. A transfer to the Premier League will be an attractive option for him, and Tottenham could prove to be the ideal move.

The North London club recently appointed Postecoglou as their manager, and the 57-year-old Australian has an impressive track record of improving players and getting the best out of them. He could help the 24-year-old Brazilian defender improve and fulfil his immense potential. If Spurs manage to sign him for €20 million, the move would be a major bargain.

Signing a quality defender should be one of Tottenham’s priorities this summer. And Ibanez certainly has the ability to settle in quickly and transform Tottenham defensively. It has been a disappointing season for Spurs, as they missed out on Champions League qualification. They will be desperate to get back into the top four and compete for trophies.

Signing a quality defender will help them tighten up at the back and it will allow the midfielders and creative players to operate with more freedom. The newly appointed 57-year-old Tottenham manager prefers to play free-flowing attacking football, and therefore he needs a reliable defensive unit at his disposal. Ibanez would be the ideal acquisition for him this summer.
