Erling Haaland broke the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring record after scoring his 35th goal of the season in a 3-0 win over West Ham.

The Norwegian broke Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer’s combined record of 34 goals in 1993/94 and 1994/95 respectively – both set in 42 seasons almost 30 years ago when the league was 22 teams.

The 22-year-old has five more league appearances to extend the record. His current goals average of 1.26 per 90 minutes suggests he could end the season just under 41.

The towering striker has scored more goals than five Premier League sides: Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Everton and Southampton.

Haaland has also recorded four hat-tricks and is just one step away from equaling Harry Kane’s record of five in a single Premier League season – although his last hat-trick came more than three years ago. month against Wolves in January.

In all competitions, the Norway international has also passed the half-century mark with 51 goals, surpassing the 50 goals of Vic Watson and Pongo Waring – records set more than 90 years ago. Now only Dixie Dean’s record 63 goals in the 1927/28 season stands in his way

City could have nine games to play if they beat Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals to secure their place in Istanbul on June 10. Based on Haaland’s average number of goals in all competitions, he would equal Dean’s record – if he played every minute and City beat Real on both legs.

Haaland’s incredible achievements are all the more impressive as the Golden Boot tally has dwindled in recent years and hasn’t topped 23 in the past four seasons.

Mohamed Salah last broke 30 games in 2017/18 in his first season at Anfield when he set a new single season record of 38 games with 32 goals.

Despite his record results, the Norwegian has only played 84% of the playing time in the Premier League, 71% in the Champions League, 40% in the Carabao Cup and 41% in the FA Cup. This means that in all competitions this season he only played 74 percent of the available minutes and has currently scored more than 64 goals – if he had played every minute and maintained his goal difference.

Haaland currently has an average of 1.26 goals per 90 minutes in the Premier League – more seriously more effective than any other player in the five best league in Europe this season who played more than 612 minutes.

The following table places goals and expected Torrendits for all Premier League players this season and clearly presents the extent of the striker – clearly in both categories.

Several strikers from opposition teams are in consistent form, especially Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak and Harry Kane – but Haaland humiliates the figures of his rivals.

Some critics could say that an established striker would convert bags with bags in Pep Guardiola’s side, based on the sheer amount of the clear opportunities that they create.

However, the Norwegian also exceeded his return of his expectation (XG) and nine goals more than the 26 expected opportunities that were presented to him-a further relationship between league topping

In addition, Haaland fired 56 shots on the goal, which means that his current goal for a goal of all 1.6 shots is on the goal – which underlines clinical finishing. This is how Haaland scores

The shot map below shows how City’s No.9 has converted almost all of his goals from the central third of the opposition’s penalty area between the goal line and the penalty spot.

In terms of shot placement, Haaland is prolific when shooting low on the left side of the goal – hitting 19 of his 26 shots on target. He’s also not bad at aiming straight, with eight of only 12 hits on goal, while hitting about half of his accurate shots down the middle.

Haaland looks truly unstoppable when he’s in full swing. His acrobatic and aerial abilities, coupled with his size, strength and speed, defy all attempts to nullify his powers – although opponents are well aware of his main threat on the center left channel.

As City’s title bid rages on, Haaland’s current goalscoring tally puts him on course to finish the season alone with 41 league goals – but there’s a growing feeling he will completely rewrite the record ladders .
