Spurs would have more of a chance’: £60m player more likely to join Tottenham than Brentford

Future in the air! The Barça does not close the door to a transfer of Ansu Fati

AS have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Ansu Fati is now pushing to leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes.

Fati was identified as a potential superstar right from a young age at La Masia and he seemed on his way to fulfilling that promise after he first broke into Barcelona’s senior side back in 2019.

However, the forward’s development has stagnated over the last couple of years and he was largely used as an impact substitute by Xavi Hernandez during the majority of last season.

At the start of the summer, multiple Spanish outlets indicated that Tottenham were eyeing a move for the 20-year-old (Fichajes.net).

Ansu Fati now wants to move away from Barcelona

AS have revealed that while Fati initially wanted to stay at Barca and fight for his place, the attacker has now changed his mind.

After seeing what transpired during pre-season and the club’s first game of the campaign against Getafe, where he only came on in the 79th minute despite the Catalan side being unable to break the deadlock, the youngster has now allegedly decided to leave his boyhood club.

The report claims that it has now become clear to the Spain international that he is not going to win Xavi over, which is why he has asked his entourage to find him a new team.

The publication states that Fati’s representatives are now talking to several big hitters across Europe but it is explained that the forward’s next destination will depend on the offers that arrive over the next two weeks.

I have no doubt that Fati will be of interest to several clubs around Europe. Despite having had a few seasons with Barca’s first team, the forward is still very young, which is why many would be willing to take a punt on him.

The 20-year-old does fit the profile of a Postecoglou signing but it remains to be seen if Tottenham would want to get involved in a bidding war for the youngster.

Tottenham are looking for a new striker after finally selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich this summer.

Spurs got £100m for their star man and are now tasked with the job of trying to replace both the goals and assists that Kane brings to a team.

Of course, in an ideal world, signing a top striker would go a long way to filling the gap left by Kane.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham were in for Muani but the forward rejected the move as Spurs apparently dithered over turning interest into a bid.

It seems very much, then, that Tottenham have missed a trick here with Muani.

Ange Postecoglou has spoken of trimming his squad in the coming weeks but there is also a reality that replacing Kane best they can is a priority.

Tottenham fans could end up frustrated this summer
If Spurs don’t end up signing a forward, or at least a player who can play in the number ten role, then Tottenham fans will be wondering what’s going on.

Missing out on Muani might be one thing but if it happens again with other targets, then it looks like Spurs are failing off the field.

We all know Kane can’t be replaced directly. He’s just too good and that’s why he cost more than £100m.

However, players like the ‘amazing’ Muani and others on the market can go towards filling the void and this very much feels like an opportunity missed.

The Athletic have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have complete the signing of England defender on four year deal on (£25.7m)

It has been reported by various outlets over the last couple of months that Adarabioyo is on Tottenham’s radar (Football London), but it emerged last week that Spurs were looking beyond the Fulham star and towards other centre-back options such as Torino’s Perr Shuurs (GiveMeSport).

Meanwhile, Foot Mercato. suggested last week that the former England Under-21s star was edging closer to a move to Monaco.

On Tuesday, Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas revealed that the Ligue 1 club’s offer of €10m (£8.5m) for the centre-back was turned down by Fulham.

Spurs continue to circle Adarabioyo this summer

News of Monaco’s latest rejected offer has now also been backed up by The Athletic, who explain that this is the second bid that the French club have had sent back after initially bidding €7m (£6m) plus add-ons for the player earlier in the summer.

The report asserts that Tottenham have not withdrawn from the race for Adarabioyo’s signature, with the Lilywhites alleged to be monitoring the centre-back’s situation closely.

Moncao would not be launching offers and negotiating with Fulham unless they already have a verbal agreement in place with Adarabioyo’s entourage. So, the fact that Spurs are not getting involved in the bidding suggests that they are prioritising other centre-back options instead.
