Done dealLiverpool has Successfully signed cm 22-year-old centre-back at Bundesliga club

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Dutch centre-back Mickey van de Ven from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

Micky van de Ven has done well in the Bundesliga, and a report from iNews claims that Liverpool are keeping tabs on him. The Premier League giants are set to appoint a German sporting director in Jorg Schmadtke. And the 59-year-old could look to make a move for the 22-year-old Wolfsburg defender.

Van de Ven has done quite well in the Bundesliga, and he has the ability to succeed in the Premier League as well. The opportunity to play for a big club like Liverpool would be an excellent option for the player. But it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can agree on a fee with Wolfsburg.

The Reds certainly have the financial resources to tempt the Bundesliga club to sell their talented young defender. Liverpool are in need of defensive reinforcements, and the 22-year-old could prove to be an upgrade on players like Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

The two Liverpool defenders have been quite injury prone, and their performances have not been up to the mark either. Matip has also been linked with an exit this summer. Liverpool should look to replace them in the coming months, and van de Ven would be a quality long-term investment.

Given his expertise in the German market, Schmadtke will be hoping to lure the top talents to Liverpool. And it remains to be seen whether he can facilitate van de Ven’s move to Anfield. Liverpool are expected to miss out on Champions League qualification next season and will be desperate to rebuild the side and get back to challenging for major trophies.

Apart from their problems in the midfield, they should look to improve defensively as well. Liverpool have been quite vulnerable at the back this season and signing a quality young defender should be a top priority for them.

The move to the Premier League would be a major step up in the talented young defender’s career. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old will be hoping to improve with regular football at Anfield and fulfill his tremendous potential.
