Done deal David William Moyes ended  a young star contract…..his not longer needed

The 20-year-old will leave upon the expiry of his contract, with fellow youngster Jamal Baptiste also to depart in the same circumstances.

Thomas added that senior star Manuel Lanzini is also expected to bid farewell to the Hammers this summer upon the expiry of his deal, as the club sets about its summer transfer window.

Thomas wrote for The Athletic that on top of Lanzini’s exit: “Youngsters Jamal Baptiste and Mipo Odubeko will go too, with their deals also running out this summer.

West Ham fans obviously haven’t seen a huge amount of Odubeko, but they will be wishing him all the best on his new journey regardless.

The youngster has two senior Hammers appearances to his name, having spent the season on loan at League One outfit Port Vale, with the striker scoring four times in 27 appearances.

Whether he has done enough to convince Port Vale to sign him permanently remains to be seen, but they could definitely do worse than the former Manchester City and Manchester United man, particularly given how he will be available on a free transfer.

He is, of course, still young, meaning the striker can improve his scoring tally in the years to come.

Regular minutes were very unlikely to come at the London Stadium, with playing time definitely needed if he is to pursue a successful career with the Republic of Ireland.

The 20-year-old would have been competing with the likes of Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca for game time in the most recent campaign, which is, of course, a big ask for such a young player.

Journalist claims James Ward-Prowse could be West Ham bound for £40 million
Paul Brown has been discussing the 10-capped England international’s future and which club he could be playing for next season.

The football journalist tipped West Ham to be the club that JWP joins:

That’s an awful lot of money, and if the Saints dig their heels in, this should be a deal that the Hammers walk away from in my opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, the 28-year-old is a very good player and has been described as the ‘Premier League’s most underrated player’ by Michael Richards (Daily Echo). However, I think we need to be more ambitious in our summer recruitment.

West Ham captain Declan Rice’s future has been one of speculation again with reports of a move to Bayern Munich close, as ExWHUEmployee provides an update.

The Hammers midfielder has much interest from big clubs with Arsenal and the Bayern Munich reported to be reading bids, although reports in the media have suggested a move is close to being agreed with the German side.

Ex has reported on The West Ham Way Patreon however that the reports in the media do not reflect the current situation.

“Reports stated that Declan Rice has accepted a move to Bayern Munich and that is a done deal for him to join the German side. These reports are very wide of the mark and not true.
“Whilst both Arsenal and Munich are said to lead the way with progress in the deal neither have had a bid accepted yet and both Manchester clubs are poised to make a move.
“Manchester United wanted to get their cup final against City out the way first and Manchester City still have the “small matter” of a Champions League Final to contend with next Saturday. Once the game against Inter Milan has been concluded then they may well make their move too. It is also thought that Rice prefers to remain in England rather than play his trade abroad.”
Rice is expected to lead our Hammers into the final of the Europa Conference League against Fiorentina on Wednesday night, with Ex adding that our captain is fully focused on delivering our first trophy in 43 years.
