If there’s been one major positive for Tottenham, amid the many so far this season, it’s the performances of Micky van de Ven.

The youngster arrived a big move from Wolfsburg in the summer and has slotted seamlessly into life in the Premier League, looking comfortable and proving to be the ideal ball playing defender for Ange Postecoglou’s system.

His displays have not gone unnoticed and earned plenty of praise to boot, so much so that it seems the Tottenham man is now being used as an example to criticise others. At least, that’s what journalist Suleyman Öztürk has done today.

He’s been covering Ajax and the problems they’ve faced at the beginning of this season, namely a lack of style or substance.

The Dutch side are currently struggling to develop any kind of system under new manager Maurice Steijn, a fact reflected in them sitting 14th in the table with five points from five games so far.

Those watching have been less than impressed by what they’ve seen so far, with it seeming that the Dutch giants are lurching from disaster to disaster at this moment in time.

Öztürk has been commenting on that today and used the current Tottenham star as an example of the problem the current squad is facing.

Graham Roberts insists 20-year-old Tottenham star is now worth ‘£100m’

Udogie has hit the ground running in the Premier League, having adapted seamlessly to the intensity and the physicality of the competition, and to the tactical demands of the inverted full-back role in Ange Postecoglou’s system.

The 20-year-old had his biggest test yet against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday as he was playing in what was arguably the biggest game of his career so far and was up against one of the best attackers in the Premier League in Bukayo Saka.

Udogie looked a little nervous at the start and when he picked up a booking early in the game, some might have

feared the worst.

However, the Italian showed maturity beyond his years and delivered an exemplary display, managing to keep Saka quiet for the majority of the encounter.

Roberts believes that the former Udinese man is worth an eye-watering £100m.

Out of all the impressive signings that Paratici oversaw during his time at Spurs, Udogie is arguably the most impressive as the youngster looks quite capable of evolving into the best left-back in world football.

While his quality and athleticism are there for all to see, he also seems to have quite a calm head on his shoulders, which is rare for someone his age.

Stockport County have bolstered their backroom staff with the arrival of the Tottenham Hotspur man. He has replaced Jake Simpson at Edgeley Park following his recent exit to Carlisle United in League One.

Holt will officially start his new role with the Hatters this week. Dave Challinor’s side were in Cheshire Senior Cup action last night at home but lost 2-0 to Tranmere Rovers.

They face an away trip to Accrington Stanley this weekend. The North West outfit thrashed Wrexham 5-0 in their last league fixture.

Losing Simpson earlier this month was a blow for Stockport and they have been carefully been weighing up who to bring in since then. Holt arrives with some decent pedigree having spent the last 12 months at Spurs in the Premier League.

He was First Team Assistant Physical Performance Coach during his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They finished 8th in the top flight last.

Holt, who graduated from the University of Central Lancashire, has also had spells in the past at Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City and Wigan Athletic and is now back in the north after his year in North London.

Stockport have managed to hit some form in the league recently and have won their last three games on the spin as they look to keep their momentum going. Challinor’s men have risen up to 9th in the division and are only a point outside the play-offs heading into this weekend.

They delved into the market over the summer to land attacker Louie Barry on loan from Aston Villa and he has impressed so far since his switch.
