Tottenham finally have a manager who plays the kind of football the fans adore and the results are there to show for their efforts.

They comprehensively beat Manchester United at home before impressing and beating Bournemouth. They suffered a shock against Fulham in the League Cup but have put that behind them by beating Burnley 5-2 away in the Premier League.

Club captain bagged a hat trick and manager Ange Postecoglou says the South Korean is a perfect example and ambassador for the club.

Son applied more pressure (49) than any other player on the pitch, with 11 of those resulting in turnovers in possession for his side as they won at Turf Moor.

He said: “It’s not exactly why but it’s one of the reasons. I’ve got a picture in my head of what I want the team to look like and I keep saying that we’re still at the beginning.

“We’re still building and there’s still a lot to be done. It’s about putting all the pieces together and at the same time not neglecting what’s right in front of you.”

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker praised Son who bagged his first hat trick of the season and said he was perfect for the way the manager wants to play, something Spurs fans will hope continues if they are to fix the goal scoring problem created by the exit of Harry Kane.

Lineker said on X: “A hattrick for Son. Spurs are really suited to Ange-ball.” The win against Burnley means Postecoglou has equalled the club’s best start to a Premier League season in four games with his three wins from four games.

‘A possibility’: Journalist says Saudi clubs could make move for £22m Tottenham player

The Saudi Pro League has made the summer transfer window one to remember on a number of fronts.

Huge money and wages have been splashed by the Saudi clubs, who have managed to bring in a number of top players from across world football.

Mo Salah is the next one in their sights. The Liverpool forward has already been the subject of a ÂŁ150m bid on deadline day. And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, more Premier League players could be next.

Journalist says Saudi clubs could sign Heung-Min Son
Speaking on TalkSPORT earlier today, CBS journalist and transfer expert Ben Jacobs has said that a number of top players could be in the Saudi teams’ sights.

And one of those players, is Tottenham captain and star forward, Heung-Min Son.

“De Bruyne is possibility. Son is a possibility. Salah will be a possibility again if he doesn’t join in the next few days and no doubt there’ll be a few younger, surprise names,” Jacobs said.

“It will slow down in the next few windows but I think the Saudi Pro League feels like it’s here to stay but European teams are going to have to come to terms with that.”

Son – who signed for Spurs for £22m back in 2015 – has recently been made Spurs skipper by Ange Postecoglou but could well be tempted away with a huge contract offer next summer.

Saudi clubs here to stay
As Jacobs says, things will inevitably slow down a touch in the coming windows. But rest assured, the Saudi clubs and their money are here to stay for a while.

This feels like a game-changing summer window that we’ve just had and if they do end up landing Salah from Liverpool, then more top players could end up following.

If Son is to leave Tottenham for the Saudi league, then that would be another statement from the money men in the Middle East.

Spurs confirm one more player departure despite transfer window closing

Tottenham Hotspur has today confirmed that Harvey White has left the club to join League One side Stevenage on a permanent basis, with the move coming late on transfer deadline day.

Harvey White came through the academy at Tottenham and managed to make it all the way to the peripheries of the senior squad for the Lilywhites. Over his years at the club, White managed three first-team appearances for Spurs (Transfermarkt).

The young midfielder has gained his fair share of experience in League One already over the course of the last few years. White spent the 2021/22 season on loan with Portsmouth, and joined Derby County for the second half of last year, too.

With new manager Ange Postecoglou coming to Tottenham this summer, there was always a chance that White could have pressed on and established himself in the Australian coach’s plans for the forthcoming campaign. However, the 21-year-old couldn’t find his way into the first team set-up again this year.

Harvey White leaves Tottenham permanently
The Sun even named White as one of the players that Spurs were open to selling this summer, but there had been very little word of the player finding a new club during the transfer window.

Amid the chaos of deadline day, a move to Stevenage transpired for White who now leaves behind his boyhood club in search of regular first-team football.

The club’s statement said: “We wish Harvey all the best for the future.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a shame to see Harvey White leave as he was always a very hard-working and talented young player. Sadly, it seems he just wasn’t quite ready for the first team at Spurs, and so the decision was made to part ways in the interest of all parties.

We will be keeping a close eye on how he gets on at Stevenage, and hopefully, he can flourish now with more game time.
