Tottenham Hotspur has signed  an ‘exceptional’ player who is better than  Josko Gvardiol

The youngster has now been compared to Josko Gvardiol by Croatian legend, Zoran Vulic.

While Spurs, like most teams, are busy fixing the here and now with a whole host of first-team signings over the summer, the North London club also have an eye on the future.

During the summer transfer window, Tottenham snapped up promising young talent like Ashley Phillips and Alejo Veliz.

Since the window shut, the Lilywhites have been hard at work to secure the signing of one of the most exciting young players around – Luka Vuskovic.

It has now been confirmed that the 16-year-old will join Tottenham in 2025, after a £12m deal was agreed for the Hajduk Split defender (The Athletic).

There are high hopes for the wonderkid, but we will have to wait a while until we get to see him in action for Spurs.

Vuskovic has a big future ahead of him at Spurs
According to Hajduk Split hero Zoran Vulic, Vuskovic will be worth that wait. He told Sportske Novosti what Tottenham fans can expect.

Vulic said: “What he has inside him is an exceptional feeling for the ball. Many say that he and his brother lack speed, but I don’t know who is the fastest stopper in the world. Next to today’s fast, light strikers, stout stoppers have little chance.

“The Vušković family plays football with their head, and there are really few of them. I would not like to burden Luka with big announcements, but I have to put him in the category of players like Gvardiol and Sutalo. That’s how I see his future, given that I know his physical and mental abilities.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s going to be a long wait until 2025, but hopefully Vuskovic continues his development with Hajduk and comes to us feeling ready to fight for a place in the first team. By the sounds of it, we’ve got an incredible talent on the way.

According to a report from Serbian publication Sport Klub, Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to meet Fiorentina’s asking price for Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic’s name has risen to prominence on the back of his impressive performances for La Viola last season, with the striker netting 21 goals in Serie A.

Previous reports from Italy have indicated that Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has identified the Serbian international as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

Some sources stated earlier this week that Spurs were competing with AC Milan and Atletico Madrid for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Sport Klub have now revealed that while Milan, Atletico and even Juventus hold interest in Vlahovic, none of those clubs are ready to meet Fiorentina’s €60m (£51.m) asking price for the striker.

The report adds, however, that Spurs have agreed to pay the fee and Vlahovic is thus edging closer to a move to the North London club.

Spurs Web Opinion

The only way I can see us spending over £50m on a striker is if we cash in on Harry Kane. So, if Spurs do agree on such a deal for Vlahovic, that is perhaps a sign that the club are getting their signings in early before Kane’s sale as they did back in 2013 when Gareth Bale moved to Madrid.

Report: Postecoglou tells Spurs board something important about Bentancur and Lo Celso\
Estadio Deportivo report that Ange Postecoglou has told the Tottenham board he prefers Giovani Lo Celso over a number of other midfield options at his disposal.

It is said that the Australian is trying to convince Lo Celso to stay in North London this summer, after the midfielder spent last season on loan in La Liga with Villarreal.

The new Spurs boss has allegedly even told the club’s hierarchy that he prefers Lo Celso to Rodrigo Bentancur, Tanguy Ndombele, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Postecoglou is a big fan of Lo Celso at Tottenham
The Argentine was arguably Tottenham’s most impressive player during their pre-season tour this summer, providing goals and assists against West Ham United and Lion City Sailors.

Apparently, Postecoglou has made it clear to Lo Celso that he is an important part of his plans, just like new summer signing James Maddison.

This comes after the Spurs boss admitted last month that he is a fan of Lo Celso and believes he is a good fit for the new system in N17 (Standard).

Spurs Web Opinion:

At the end of the day, the decision should be Postecoglou’s and his alone. He should be able to keep whatever players he likes, and Lo Celso does seem a good fit. However, I can imagine Bissouma, Bentancur, and Maddison will be the three once they are all fit.

Micky van de Ven has labelled Cristian Romero an ‘amazing’ defender and admitted he loves playing alongside him for Tottenham Hotspur.

Van de Ven has been speaking to Football.London and discussed his blossoming partnership with Romero.

The 22-year-old has hit the ground running at Tottenham after making the switch to North London from Wolfsburg over the summer.

Cristian Romero has also enjoyed a brilliant start to the season alongside the Dutchman after a mixed campaign last time out.

The duo seem to have struck up a promising partnership and it’s fair to say Van de Ven is enjoying playing alongside Romero.

Van de Ven says Romero is an ‘amazing’ defender
Speaking to Football.London, Van de Ven was asked about his new partnership with the World Cup winner.

“Yeah, I think I know what Cuti’s qualities are and Cuti knows what my qualities are and we know what we expect from each other,” he said.

“So, I have his back and he has mine. He’s an amazing player from what you can see on the pitch.

“His defending, with the ball, just an amazing player and I’m there to help him.

“I know when I run in this direction, Cuti has got my back because he’s always there. We just feel each other and of course, it’s amazing when you have this as a centre-back duo.”

Romero has proven himself to be a top defender, particularly for Argentina.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a brilliant start to life at Tottenham in his debut season under Antonio Conte. But he cut a frustrated figure last time out and was lacking a suitable defensive partner.

Van de Ven seems to compliment Romero’s game perfectly and the duo are bringing out the best in each other.
