Whilst Bayern will need a replacement, Thomas Tuchel’s side have been linked with a move for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha this week, a transfer that could allow Gravenberch to move to Liverpool.

With the Reds now finally in talks with Bayern for Gravenberch, the speed of this transfer can finally begin to accelerate, with Liverpool taking their time this month in trying to recruit the 21-year-old.

Everyone and their mother seems to be aware of Liverpool’s interest in Gravenberch, and the Reds now have to do all they can to bring the midfielder to Anfield as quickly as possible.

The Dutch international is clearly a perfect signing for Jurgen Klopp, with Gravenberch’s profile also something that could see the midfielder flourish in the Premier League.

And with the Reds finally in talks for Gravenberch with Bayern, the English giants must be quick if they’re to wrap up this potential transfer, which could be massive for Klopp this season.

Report: Liverpool talks for ‘dominant’ midfielder seriously progressed today, he wants Reds move

Liverpool are advancing a move to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool are discussing a deal involving midfielder Ryan Gravenberch as the deadline approaches.

That is according to a report from The Athletic, who report that Liverpool are now in negotiations to secure Gravenberch.

It’s stated that whilst Liverpool have wanted Gravenberch for a while, their move has developed ‘significantly’ today.

The Reds appear to have been seriously pushing in the last few hours and are now making progress with a deal.

The report adds that the deal is not close yet but Liverpool are expected to launch a formal bid imminently.

Crucially, it’s noted that Gravenberch has decided that he wants to join Liverpool over any other club.

Even Manchester United – who have Gravenberch’s former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag in charge – are behind Liverpool in the midfielder’s wishes.

United are prioritising Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat anyway but Gravenberch is now clear that he favours a move to Anfield.

Gravenberch hails from Amsterdam and joined the famed Ajax youth ranks back in 2010, aged just eight.

The midfielder – who is of Surinamese descent – is the brother of former Reading utility man Danzell Gravenberch.

Gravenberch made his way up through the Ajax system, becoming a star with the Jong Ajax side before flourishing in the first team.

The 6ft 3in midfielder racked up 12 goals in 103 games for Ajax before a £21million package move to Bayern Munich last summer.

The move hasn’t really worked out for Gravenberch, making just three Bundesliga starts last season.

Gravenberch now wants to move on in order to play regularly again ahead of Euro 2024.

Liverpool are now prioritising a move for Gravenberch to bolster their midfield, even if he isn’t a natural holding player.

Gravenberch has played there before and has the potential to be a top number six, but his current skillset is more suited to being a box-to-box player.

The 21-year-old – branded ‘very dominant’ by his former coach Brian Tevreden – has so much potential and Liverpool are now pushing to secure his signature.

Nat Phillips handed Celtic transfer seal of approval as Peter Grant lauds ‘uncompromising’…

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips is currently on-route to Glasgow ahead of completing a season long loan-move with Celtic.

And upon his arrival into Brendan Rodgers’ squad, he’s been hit with praise from former Hoops favourite Peter Grant, who believes the centre back is uncompromising and has already shown he can step up to the mark at a big club. Phillips, 26, has been at Liverpool through the academy ranks but was made available for transfer after falling down the pecking order in recent years.

And Grant told Go Radio that when Phillips did feature for the Merseyside club, he came through with flying colours. He said: “He had a lot of games for Liverpool at a young age. He came in at the time the boy [Ben] Davies who was supposed to go to Celtic ended up at Liverpool and he ended up keeping him out the team. He done exceptionally well, played Champions League games and everything. He’s a very honest defender.

“But Nat as I say, he’s an uncompromising defender and I think sometimes we get away from that at this moment in time. Centre halves, you’ve got to go out there and make sure the first thing you are able to do is defend and I think he done that really well in a difficult time for Liverpool. I thought he came out with flying colours.”

Fellow pundit and former Rangers defender Craig Moore was then asked if he would throw Phillips in for his Celtic debut against the Light Blues on Sunday.

He responded: “Yeah, I think that most certainly he will be thrown into this match. We’ve seen it over the years Peter in the years we’ve been involved. It takes something special or a certain scenario for players to come in and be signed so quickly then be thrown into that game.

“I think for Celtic in terms of their centre half partnering that’s available , I think this is one of those situations and I do think that Phillips will come in.”
