Adam Ounas could have his medicals with West Ham in the next 24-48 hours. The Hammers agreed on a €25 million fee with Stuttgart for the 25-year-old Greek defender, with Arsenal also set to receive a boost due to a sell-on clause.

West Ham United could conclude another signing in the coming days to bolster their squad further. David Moyes wanted a new defender in the close season, and after extensive periods of inactivity in the window, they have sprung to life with a series of incomings.

Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse have already arrived, and now the focus will remain on bringing in a new defender and potentially a striker. West Ham had an agreement with Manchester United for Harry Maguire but eventually cooled their interest after failing to convince the England international.

Right after the decision, West Ham immediately started pursuing Konstantinos Mavropanos as an option. Stuttgart made clear their intention with the price tag as the 25-year-old defender made it clear he wanted a return to England and a new challenge

West Ham were expected to submit a bid for Mavropanos, and they have agreed with Stuttgart over the fee. The Hammers reportedly pay €20 million in fixed fees while another €5 million in add-ons for the 25-year-old defender.

It seems like a sweet deal for a defender who will enter the prime of his career soon. West Ham wanted to bring reinforcements back to cover for the Europa League campaign this term. They have sufficient cover but need a new player to improve their ranks.

Mvropanos will undergo his medicals with West Ham in the next 24-48 hours. Arsenal had a sell-on clause in his contract that entitles them to 10% of the fee West Ham will pay. It’s a good deal for all parties concerned, with the 25-year-old defender moving back to England, where he may have unfinished business.

Stuttgart will profit considerably from the sale, considering they paid little less than €3 million to sign Mavropanos. West Ham, on the other hand, will also see the 25-year-old defender as a long-term alternative to the experienced Maguire.
