Six Liverpool midfield has been transfered (REPORT)Liverpool’s summer transfer window has kicked into gear nice and early after capturing World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Albion.

The 24-year-old’s arrival is widely regarded as a tremendous piece of business, with Mac Allister pivotal to Brighton’s surprise top-six Premier League finish which has cemented a place in next season’s Europa League.

But instead of joining Albion in their new venture, Mac Allister will play in the competition with Liverpool, tasked with helping to rejuvenate a midfield that was overrun and outclassed on numerous occasions last year.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sanctioned the releases of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on free transfers – while James Milner appears to be heading to Brighton after his contract expired – so this could be a summer of transition for the Reds as they look to establish themselves as title challengers once more.

Further midfield incomings are needed to ensure Mac Allister, who will wear the number ten shirt, hits the ground running on Merseyside and there’s plenty of options available to Klopp and his new sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, between now and the transfer deadline.

Here’s a selection of the players linked with plugging the gaps.

Current club: Borussia Monchengladbach

90min revealed at the end of May that Liverpool had opened talks with the representatives of French midfielder Manu Kone after a hugely impressive season in the Bundesliga.

The 22-year-old plays in the holding midfield role and is somebody that Schmadtke knows well from his time in Germany. A potential long-term successor to Fabinho, who struggled throughout last season, a deal for Kone may not break the bank either which is what Liverpool are hoping for with their summer dealings.

Current club: OGC Nice

A far more attack-minded midfielder, Khephren Thuram is another player Liverpool have engaged in dialogue with over a potential move to Anfield.

Thuram, who is a part of Didier Deschamps’ senior France squad for the upcoming international fixtures, is a chance creator who is always looking to progress the ball forward into advanced areas – a similar skillset to that of Mac Allister.

Ryan Gravenberch hasn’t found regular game time at Bayern / Adam Pretty/GettyImages

Current club: Bayern Munich

Ryan Gravenberch was heralded as one of European football’s brightest young talents when he swapped Amsterdam for Munich last summer.

But the inability to dislodge Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka from their starting roles, plus the addition of Konrad Laimer for next season, means Gravenberch could be available after a tricky 12 months.

Another more attack-minded midfielder, Gravenberch creates chances but also likes to take efforts at goal while simultaneously getting stuck into tackles. A real all-rounder who could be a steal if Bayern are prepared to follow through and sell.

Youri Tielemans will be a free agent / Malcolm Couzens/GettyImages

Current club: Free agent

If it’s Premier League experience Liverpool are looking for, they should look no further than Youri Tielemans.

Not only does the Belgian know his way around the division, he’s also going to be a free agent this summer as his Leicester contract is expiring and he’s chosen not to renew – no surprise really given the Foxes relegation.

Tielemans was well below his best during 2022/23 but has real quality to offer, in his own half and also in the final third. Could be a very wise addition.

Gabri Veiga helped Celta Vigo avoid relegation / Octavio Passos/GettyImages

Current club: Celta Vigo

Gabri Veiga is a talented young Spanish playmaker who could be a real star in the making.

The 20-year-old has almost all of Europe’s very best clubs monitoring his progress and he’ll have done his chances of bagging a big move no harm after netting a brace for Celta in their 2-1 win over Barcelona – goals that secured the club’s status in La Liga.

His 15 goal contributions show what he’s capable of in terms of end product, with his appeal enhanced further by a tempting £35m release clause written into his contract.

Will Ruben Neves finally leave Wolves? / Marc Atkins/GettyImages

Current club: Wolves

After six seasons at Molineux, the time for Ruben Neves to secure a big move away is surely now.

Nobody expected the 26-year-old to be at Wolves for as long as he has been, truth be told, and his performances in 2022/23 were a reminder that the Portuguese is capable of mixing it a higher level.

Neves provides an effective screen in front of the back four but also loves to dictate the tempo of games and spread the play. He also has the ability to unlock a defence with an eye of the needle pass, in addition to rocketing home a scorcher from distance or bending in a set piece.

There’s further options available to Liverpool this summer if they’re willing to pay big money, with their extensive scouting network appreciative of the talent of Moises Caicedo and Aurelien Tchouameni among others.

Nicolo Barella, Romeo Lavia and Mason Mount all have admirers at Anfield too, with this particular trio able to offer cover in the six, eight and ten role.

£34m Liverpool target has just chosen his next club, he’s not moving to Anfield – journalist

Reported Liverpool target Orkun Kokcu has agreed to sign for Benfica from Feyenoord.

Kokcu has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield over recent weeks, with Jurgen Klopp said to have been ‘charmed’ by his skills. But Benfica were always reported to be the favourites.

Today, as per French journalist Santi Aouna on Twitter, the 22-year-old has now reached a verbal agreement with the Portuguese side. He won’t be joining Liverpool.

“Orkun Kokcu is closing in to join Benfica,” Aouna reports. “The player has already reached a verbal agreement with Benfica.

“Direct talks to take place in the next hours with Feyenoord in order to get the deal done.”

Kokcu crossed off Liverpool’s list

With the transfer window now virtually upon us, more and more moves are starting to become clearer. Liverpool are already focused on their own new signings, so won’t feel the blow of losing out on Kokcu too hard.

Having said that though, there is reason to believe Liverpool were genuinely interested in the Turkey international.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on Twitter that Kokcu will command a price of around £26m. That seems to be the kind of bracket the Reds are shopping at this summer. At twenty-two he’s still young, but has a good amount of football behind him.

Ready for the next step after captaining Feyenoord to the league title, there seemed a good chance of him coming to the Premier League.

But whether through necessity or design, Liverpool now look to have firmed up their targets. After Alexis Mac Allister, Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone appear the primary choices for the Reds.

Beyond that trio, it seems Romeo Lavia and Ryan Gravenberch are also being considered. What happens next could depend on whether anyone – like Kokcu – has other plans.

It’s still worth to keep an eye on Kokcu, anyway. Liverpool love doing business in Portugal, and if he does well in Lisbon English sides will surely come knocking. For now though, this one looks done.

Liverpool agree terms with Frenchman–Reds free to sign£100M man–Klopp hailed for Liverpool signing

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed today –

West Ham chairman David Sullivan has confirmed captain Declan Rice will be sold this summer, and now LIVERPOOL have joined the race for the player

Liverpool had one of their worst seasons in recent memory and finished outside the Champions League places – and outside of the top four – they were awful.

And that has led to rumours that a number of players will get signed by new boss Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Over the past few seasons – Declan Rice has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and a man that could go on to become one of the best in the world.

The England midfielder became only the third Hammers skipper to lift a trophy, after victory over Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League.

He is a player that Chelsea and Arsenal are really interested in acquiring – but there is now claims on the SUn which have claimed that LIVERPOOL are interested in a possible deal – claiming he could be the idea partner for new signing Alexis Mac Allister

Sullivan admitted a gentleman’s agreement means they will allow a player who still has two years remaining on his contract to leave.

Asked whether lifting the trophy in Prague was Rice’s last action as a West Ham player, Sullivan told talkSPORT: “I think it has to be. We promised him he could go.

“He set his heart on going and in due course he has to get on and we have to get a replacement.

“It is not something we wanted to happen. We offered him £200,000 a week 18 months ago and he turned it down. You can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to be there.

“I think the offers will start to come today.

‘Three or four clubs have shown interest but out of respect to West Ham, while we’re still playing, you don’t make offers for players.”

Mac Allister message sent –

LIVERPOOL have been told they have worked some transfer magic with the deal that will see Alexis Mac Allister join from Brighton.

The 24-year-old became the Reds’ first addition of the summer on Thursday, after an agreement was reached for his transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.

And after seeing the Reds complete the signing of the World cup winner – Simon Jordan has hailed the Reds for their brilliant bit of transfer business.

“I don’t think Brighton have particularly tied him up have they. What did they achieve (by getting him to sign a new deal)?” Simon Jordan told talkSPORT.

“You’ve got a World Cup winner coming back. They tied him up to be able to give him to Liverpool at a (fee) properly below market value.

‘I imagine (Brighton) will be a little bit disappointed with the situation.

“Because it’s happening rather quickly. I thought that we’d got Mac Allister tied up in a situation where someone was going to have to pay top money for him. Top money.

“I’d have wanted more for him. I want these big clubs that come along and take everyone else’s vision and don’t do it themselves, to have to pay the prerequisite price for it.”

Mac Allister is ready for this kind of move – it is perfect timing for him to join a big club.

It is alot of money to pay for the man – but he fully deserves that price tag after the season that he has had – the only worry is now whether or not he will be able to adapt to life at one of the big teams.

There will be all sorts of pressure for him to make an instant impact – but that doesnt hide the fact he is a classy player

Thuram on way?

With Alexis Mac Allister over the line, LIVERPOOL are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows that his current side are not good enough to compete with Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and possibly Chelsea for that Premier League title next season.

He knows that he needs to add some more quality to the squad – some more depth and freshness – and that had les to rumours that the exciting Thuram is a man that the club are interested in.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign in the south of France and earned a call-up to the senior national team as well as a place in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season.

And after they sealed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister – according to Football Transfers journalist Jacque Talbot, the Reds and Thuram have agreed to terms as his arrival at Anfield inches closer.

Negotiations between the Merseysiders and the Ligue 1 club are well underway as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure the Frenchman’s signature early in the transfer window.

Former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has already informed Klopp that Liverpool could be getting a player that is destined for the top of the game: “Khephren is another talented player here,” Ramsey said in February.

“I think he’s definitely got a big future ahead of him if he carries on the way he’s going at the minute. He’s very dangerous, very powerful, a very strong dribbler of the ball.

“Hopefully, he can keep progressing.

‘He’s another player that can go all the way to the top I feel. I enjoy playing alongside him in the middle of the park; I think we have a good balance in there.

‘Now it’s just about adding a few more goals to our games.”
