Man City must pull U-turn after ‘completely abhorrent’ news – Keith Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the decision will “come back to haunt them, PR-wise”.

Man City have confirmed to the club’s Disabled Supporters Association that a charge of £228 per season will apply for car parking from the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Parking had previously been free for disabled fans but they now face a charge of around £6 per match for the upcoming season, which will double in 2025

City have claimed the charge stems from fans booking a car parking space but leaving it unused on matchday.

Man City must U-turn on ‘abhorrent’ new charges for disabled fans, says Wyness

Wyness claimed the club “must rescind” their demands.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I’ve sat in the seat when you’ve got to make those decisions.

“Whether that’s ticketing, parking, catering. Of course, you’ve got to make decisions about the disabled fanbase as part of that.

“I find it completely abhorrent that they’re charging such an amount.

“To start charging £228 is ridiculous.

“I don’t know who made that decision, but it’s shown that they haven’t really looked at the group they are charging.
