Done Deal: Man City has successfully signed kylian Mbappe, player to replaced Jack Grealish £230M rated Sealed deal

Man City could beat Real Madrid to Kylian Mbappe signing after ‘meeting’ in Manchester
They could make an audacious swoop.

Manchester City could be about to make a sensational swoop for Kylian Mbappe after a meeting took place in Manchester.

This week Mbappe told Paris Saint-Germain of his intention to leave the club at the end of the current season when his contract expires.

The 24-year-old came close to leaving PSG in 2022 before he signed a new deal, and the French club had hoped to convince his to renew terms this summer.

The World Cup winning attacker has long been linked with Real Madrid, and the Spanish giants are heavy favourites to sign him when he becomes a free agent.

However, it now appears that Man City are making an attempt to snatch Mbappe from underneath Madrid’s noses.

According to Cadena Ser, a representative of Mabppe met with senior figures at City last week.

Mbappe’s main representative is his mother, Fayza Lamari, but he is also said to have three other ‘unofficial’ but trusted representatives.

The report from Cadena Ser claims that one of those other representatives travelled to Manchester and met club figures on Monday.

City trained at the City Football Academy on Monday morning before flying to Copenhagen ahead of their Champions League win on Tuesday.

It is claimed that several members of Pep Guardiola’s squad saw Mbappe’s representative at the training facility.

On Tuesday, the day after the Manchester meeting, Mbappe informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his intention to leave the club.

However, Real Madrid will fight tooth-and-nail to ensure that Mbappe is playing in white next season, rather than sky blue.

Another of Mbappe’s representatives reportedly travelled to Germany and watched Real Madrid’s Champions League win against RB Leipzig from a VIP area.

The representative is said to be a childhood friends of Mbappe, and is known by Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, a close friend of the striker.

With Erling Haaland said to harbour ambitions of playing for Real Madrid one day, it could be that City want to hit Los Blancos right where it hurts.

Pep Guardiola saw his Manchester City team take a huge step towards his first priority of the season on Wednesday, but still wasn’t happy.

Victory over fourth-placed Aston Villa kept City firmly in the title hunt, beating a top five rival for the first time this season at the seventh attempt. It also kept City ten points ahead of fifth-place as they look to lock in another year of Champions League football – the first thing Guardiola looks for every season.

City could still qualify for Europe with an unlikely fifth-placed finish depending on the Premier League’s co-efficient ranking at the end of the season, or also by winning the Champions League again. It would be a huge surprise to see them collapse from here, but despite that Guardiola was taking aim at the authorities before and after the win over Villa.

“In two days at 12.30pm we have another game,” said Guardiola pre-match, explaining his eye-catching decision to rest Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne. “I think all the teams are top and have big squads and a good squad, and of course we have it. That is the position we decide today for this line-up, for this tough opening and go for it.”

At full time, Guardiola again pointed to the schedule and hinted at changes on Saturday lunchtime at Crystal Palace. “We have an incredible schedule, every three days,” he bemoaned.

“The schedule is terrible. Three days, three days, three days. We have to bring new energy for each game and everybody has to be involved. All the guys were good and in the next game we’re going to play different players.”

That suggests the plan is to recall De Bruyne and Haaland at Selhurst Park, and why wouldn’t you if you had your two best players well-rested. They had both struggled against Arsenal on Sunday, but are players who have that knack of putting frustrating games behind them quickly. Don’t bet against them starting on Saturday – not that those odds would be at all generous.

However, in their place, Guardiola discovered an exciting new front four who put together one of City’s best attacking performances of the season. Phil Foden got a hat-trick from his favourite number ten role, Julian Alvarez was unlucky not to follow him with at least two goals in his preferred main striker position.

Jack Grealish is improving after struggles with form and injury and looked dangerous again on the left, with Jeremy Doku building on impressive recent displays with a first assist since November when he notched four against Bournemouth – 21 games previously.

Guardiola did cite Foden’s dip against Arsenal because of his recent workload, but the pair are 23 and 24, they should be able to handle three games in a week. The manager also rarely persists with a single attacker in every single game, and it’s impossible to leave Haaland and De Bruyne on the bench for any extended run

However, they say don’t change a winning formula, so that would mean sticking with the Foden and Alvarez partnership as a nine and ten if Guardiola subscribed to such basic cliches. Foden has 21 goals and ten assists, and Alvarez has 16 goals with 13 assists. Only Haaland (29 goals, five assists) has more goal involvements than the duo this term).

The obvious selection is to recall Haaland and De Bruyne, but the thought must be in Guaridola’s head after the Villa win that Foden and Alvarez are simply producing more in attack in recent weeks.

Phil Foden’s sublime hat-trick fired Manchester City to victory against Aston Villa to keep up their pursuit of Arsenal and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

Mikel Areta’s side went top earlier on Wednesday evening with a win over Luton but the defending champions ensured they remained in touch with a strong 4-1 victory.

While it was a controlled collective performance, they had Foden to thank for a commanding victory. After Jhon Duran had responded to Rodri’s early opener, the England international curled home a free kick to nudge Manchester City in front just before the interval.

Foden then swept home from the edge of the box before producing a magnificent strike from distance to complete his hat-trick and secure all three points. It meant Pep Guardiola could leave Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne on the bench, with the two stars rested in a hectic fortnight of football.

Unai Emery’s visitors were without an injured Ollie Watkins and suspended John McGinn, and struggled to produce consistent threat. Aston Villa remain fourth, two points ahead of Tottenham, who have a game in hand.

Phil Foden’s imperious hat-trick against Aston Villa revitalises Manchester City’s title challenge
If hat-tricks used to be Erling Haaland’s personal domain, a rival is emerging. The Norwegian may have the largest collection of match balls at Manchester City but he had a watching brief as Phil Foden scored his second treble of 2024 and his third in 19 months. For someone who isn’t a striker, Foden is contriving to outscore virtually all of them – if not his Norwegian teammate – and his evisceration of Aston Villa took him into previously uncharted territory. He now has 21 goals for the season, reaching 20 for the first time in his career.

Phil Foden: I’m loving my football at the moment
“I’m just loving my football at the moment. I know I am capable of scoring goals, and today I showed that. I’m delighted.

“I always want to better last season, get more goal contributions. I’m doing more. I see myself as a really technical player and I think I can do that more in the middle. The manager has said before that I will grow into that position because I was always going so quick; I think I’m getting the balance right.

“I always try to arrive in the box. You get at least five goals in the season arriving in the box late. There’s still a lot to improve on. I don’t actually practice free kicks, but I felt confident, and Julian gave it to me. It worked out!”

Manchester City 4-1 Aston Villa
So Manchester City move to within a point of Arsenal and the summit of the Premier League table, though Liverpool will be back on top if they beat Sheffield United tomorrow night. Pep Guardiola will be pleased to have got through the game unscathed, with a fresh Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne to bring back in.

Rodri speaks to TNT Sports after Manchester City’s win
“Today we played amazing from the first minute. We conceded the goal, but we kept pace in the game, and in general it was one of the best of the season.

“We knew that we had to have more players in the box from the game against Arsenal. That was the message from the beginning of the game. I want to help the team as much as possible – it’s not my role to score goals, but I know I can do more in the final third. It’s something I’ve been working on and focussing on.

“Phil Foden has grown every year since I’ve been here. He can score from wherever he wants. He has a special quality – I’m so happy for him.”

Aston Villa aren’t chasing overly hard, the legs weary and the task too tall. Brentford, who drew 0-0 in a snoozefest with Brighton earlier, are the visitors to Villa Park on Saturday.

Manchester City of course have a tight turnaround to Saturday lunchtime’s encounter with Crystal Palace, something that Pep Guardiola was already chuntering about ahead of kick off. Right now, though, the Manchester City manager looks rather more content than his Aston Villa counterpart, Unai Emery cutting an exasperated figure on the touchline as his chase fruitlessly with the hosts calm in possession.

LIVERPOOL PLAYERS TURN AFRICAN SUPERSTAR INTO THE ‘WORLD SAVIOUR’

By Siddharth Juyal

April 4, 2024

Liverpool players turn Mohamed Salah into the world saviour like Daniel Craig’s “James Bond” for World Earth Month with SC Johnson
Mohamed Salah turns into “James Bond” as Liverpool players hold a meeting to prepare for World Earth Month with SC Johnson. Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai, Caoimhin Kelleher and Darwin Nunez participated in a hilarious ad for a noble cause.

The advertisement has taken social media by storm with many Liverpool fans around the globe enjoying and reacting to it. The advert starts with Robertson taking over the meeting agenda as Nunez takes his place at the table.

The setting resembled the hilarious mockumentary sitcom television series, The Office but with more diverse characters. Fans noticed the language barrier among the player but the friendly environment and their strong bond superseded that.

The advertisement involved hilarious give-and-take between players as they did their best not to laugh with each other. The atmosphere created a very positive and hilarious interaction among the players who are better at football than acting.

Nevertheless, the Scotland captain showed that he can be as good of a comedy actor as he is a left-back. The advertisement (h/t Liverpool’s X account) made to promote recycling needed a Daniel Craig-level superstar with fame and elegance.

The situation called for the Egypt captain to take centerstage once again and become the hero for Liverpool. Salah showed his plastic bottle throwing technique which is hopefully a practice session for him to resurrect his finishing.

The 31-year-old scored the winning goal against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday but uncharacteristically missed many chances. The Reds need their Egyptian James Bond to be at his best in the last nine Premier League games.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has injected that cohesiveness into the squad which has been instrumental to their success this season. The Reds have already secured the Carabao Cup despite facing a severe injury crisis, inadvertently helping the bright academy players.
