‘He’s making everyone look bad’: Said to Liverpool player…

Robbie Fowler has joked about how ‘by every passing week’ Mohamed Salah is making ‘everyone look bad’ because of the goalscoring records he is breaking.

One of Mohamed Salah’s latest records was scoring for the ninth home game on the bounce – no one in Liverpool’s history has done that.

That record-breaking moment happened as Jurgen Klopp’s side recorded a much-needed 1-0 win over Brentford on Saturday – added to that, it was goal number 186 in the Premier League for the left-footed superstar , the same as Steven Gerrard.

It keeps Liverpool’s slim Champions League hopes alive, but if they are to do the unthinkable, then they have to win every game remaining.

If that happens, then Salah will and has to be at the heart of it all, with Fowler in no doubt that the 30-year-old is a club legend and how he has surprised him with the number of goals he has scored, as he told Premier League Productions (06/05/23 at 6:30 pm).

“I think by every passing week he is making everyone look bad, to be fair,” said Fowler.

“His record is phenomenal. He came to the club and I don’t think anyone envisaged the amount of goals and the amount of great performances he would put in.

“But he has been an absolute phenomenon for Liverpool. A real handful. A great team-mate. He says all the right things. He does all the right things. What more can you say? He has just been a phenomenal signing for Liverpool.

On if Salah is a Liverpool legend? “Absolutely,” responded Fowler. “When you look at what he has won. What he has achieved and what he has done – rightly, correctly and everything under the sun, he should be an absolute Liverpool legend.”

SALAH ONE OF LIVERPOOL’S GREATEST

It’s claimed that Salah hasn’t had a great season, well, if scoring 19 Premier League goals and 30 from 48 in all competitions is a poor season, then every forward would take that every day of the week.

Liverpool have been well off it this season from the middle of the park, if that’s sorted in the summer, then it will allow their speedster on the right to blossom even further next term.

A Liverpool great that is only enhancing his legacy, Salah has scored 186 goals and supplied 74 assists from 302 matches.

‘Absolutely outstanding’: Gary Neville amazed by five signings Jurgen Klopp has made at Liverpool

Gary Neville has singled out five ‘outstanding’ Liverpool signings and urged FSG to back Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast, the Sky Sports pundit suggested that Liverpool need to dig deep to ensure that Klopp has the quality required to challenge next season.

Liverpool are in the top four fight all of a sudden, but that shouldn’t paper over the cracks.

This campaign has largely been a disappointment and many of the current squad seem to have gone beyond their peaks.

It is clear that Liverpool need to renovate their starting line-up this term.

And Neville feels like Klopp has earned financial backing from FSG through his transfer record over the years.

Neville mentioned the signings of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Fabinho as particular bargains and suggested that it will be imperative that they pick up a few more value-for-money additions this summer.

“Jurgen Klopp has to be supported,” he said.

“He was supported a number of years ago when they fell short, in terms of being able to push themselves in the transfer market. They are going to have to go there again this summer because all the other teams are going to invest.

“Klopp’s strength over the last six or seven years has been the quality of his football and the strength of his recruitment and he’s been able to get the most out of players, who ultimately haven’t cost stupid amounts – Van Dijk, Alisson and Nunez aside.

“But you look at those players who have cost £20 or £30 million, like Jota, Salah, Mane, there are more, Robertson, they have been absolutely outstanding, Fabinho, they have been wonderful for Liverpool.

“They are going to have to do more of that but they are going to have to put some serious money down and get some players for Klopp, he deserves that at Liverpool.”

Liverpool are already being linked with a huge range of players going into the summer.

Upgrading in central midfield will be most pivotal, as it is arguably the area of the squad which has caused Klopp the most issues this year.

Already Jude Bellingham appears to be beyond FSG’s budget, but it does seem that other additions are being lined up.

Alexis MacAllister, who is slightly cheaper, and Mason Mount are the latest pair who seem to be most strongly linked.

Both would inject some energy and youth into this Liverpool team, which could be badly needed next term, when Klopp will want this side to get back into title contention once again.
