Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be working hard to prepare his side for the upcoming season, which starts in less than three weeks.

The Reds will get their Premier League campaign underway with a trip to London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on August 13, before hosting Bournemouth in their first home match.

Klopp’s side for the game against the Blues will likely look very different from the one that finished last term, with several players having departed Anfield this summer.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino and James Milner all left when their respective contracts expired at the end of June, and it appears that another first team star is set to depart.

According to Football Insider, midfielder Jordan Henderson has completed a medical ahead of a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq.

Henderson is set to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq

The report claims that the England international is set to join the Pro League side in a deal that will be worth a staggering £120 million in total.

Henderson, 33, will reportedly earn a huge £700,000-per-week when he joins Al-Ettifaq, totalling more than £36 million-per-year.

The midfielder joined Liverpool from Sunderland back in 2011 and has since made a total of 492 appearances across all competitions.

He has won every major trophy available to him during his time on Merseyside, and has captained the club for the past few seasons.

Henderson will be reunited with former Reds teammate Steven Gerrard in the Middle East, with the former Aston Villa manager having taken charge of the Pro League side earlier this month.

Liverpool are said to have accepted an offer of £12 million for Henderson, who will become the most recent player to move to Saudi Arabia.

So far this summer several players, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy, have all completed moves to the Pro League, and Henderson looks likely to become the next player to do so.

Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp is “in contact” with HUGE midfield signing

by Kian Long1 hour ago

Liverpool are active in the transfer window. While it’s not often their approach to seek extravagant and expensive signings, Jurgen Klopp has been forced into compiling a shortlist of worthy replacements. Given the imminent departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, more midfielders must be signed.

The two experienced midfielders are set to leave Anfield to sign for the Saudi Pro League. It’s not the end of the world for Liverpool, though, as they were likely to be rotational players and weren’t exactly in the best form of their career anyway. As long as a ready-to-go replacement is signed as soon as possible, fans can call this good business.
Liverpool are still in contact with Romeo Lavia

According to Football Insider, Liverpool remain in contact with Romeo Lavia. Further, the report claims that a conclusion is aiming to be reached by the end of the month. Lavia is one of the most sought after midfielders given Southampton’s relegation, so Liverpool hope to be efficient in their negotiations to sign him.
