Liverpool have now picked up a fresh injury issue ahead of playing Manchester United on Sunday.

The Reds are already set to be without a handful of key players, as they wait on the returns of Diogo Jota, Andy Robertson and Thiago Alcantara.

And now, according to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, Liverpool may well have to make do without Alexis Mac Allister, too.

Mac Allister was forced from the field after suffering a bang to the knee against Sheffield United last mid-week. With the wound failing to heal in time, the 24-year-old sat out of Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

And taking to X on Monday night, Edul reported that Mac Allister could be set to ‘miss some games’ for Liverpool.

“Alexis Mac Allister has a bad bruise on his knee,” the journalist reports. “There is no ligament injury but he could miss some games with Liverpool.”

This will be really frustrating news for Jurgen Klopp. On the one hand, it’s obviously good that there’s no serious damage to Mac Allister’s knee.

As we’ve already seen with Joel Matip this season and plenty more before him, knee injuries are not to be trifled with.

It’s a relief that Macca is apparently dealing with a surface-level injury and nothing more.

Nevertheless, it’s a really bad time for the Argentina international to be missing. Having struggled a little in previous weeks, Mac Allister had been finding some form for the Reds.

He was excellent recently against Manchester City and then scored a wonderful first goal for the club versus Fulham. The former Brighton man now looks like a really vital part of this Liverpool team.

With big games coming up against Manchester United and Arsenal over the next ten days, the Reds could really do with their No.10 being fit. Unfortunately, it now looks as though that isn’t going to be the case.

As a result, it seems likely that Wataru Endo will take on greater importance for Klopp. Although Endo has been good of late, he struggled badly against Palace at the weekend. Relying on the Japanese for the games against United and Arsenal will bring a certain level of anxiety to fans.

For now, it seems difficult to predict just how long Mac Allister is out. It probably all depends on how quickly the bruising goes down. With the game against United now just five days away though, it isn’t looking good.

‘You just sense’… Chris Sutton now predicts who’s going to win the Premier League title this season

After a dramatic weekend of football, Chris Sutton has now delivered his verdict on a title race between Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The pundit was talking on the BBC’s ‘The Monday Night Club’ and bucked the trend of recent predictions.

Whilst many have still tipped Pep Guardiola’s Man City to triumph despite a recent dip, Sutton had a different name in mind.

The pundit actually thought Liverpool were now showing the form and fortune of title-winners, a side rarely tipped to win it all this season.

Sutton said: “The more they do this, the more you half fancy them to nick the title, with Manchester City and the wheels coming off a little bit. You just sense it may be their season.

“Let’s get it right, at the weekend, they [Liverpool] got very lucky. It was never a sending off, it was absolutely ridiculous.

“So when things start to go their way like that you sense they are building momentum and just imagine being in that Liverpool dressing room, that’s 18 points from losing positions that Liverpool have taken.

“That is phenomenal. So the belief within the dressing room now, they will believe they can carry that on.”

Of course, there is already very little to choose from between the three.

Every club in the Premier League looks capable of losing games this season, such is the level of competition.

And it does almost seem as if no team quite has the quality to pull away from the pack right now.

The festive period will be telling, as it always is, and perhaps Liverpool will need to make the most of the period before Mohamed Salah leaves for AFCON.

It’s a bold shout for Sutton to pick Liverpool ahead of Man City and Arsenal, but there’s definitely merit to his thoughts.

Arsenal do still lack a goalscorer, with David Seaman advising the club to chase one name in January.

And is often the case with Man City around this time of year, they are enduring an indifferent run of form.

However, we are already approaching the period in which City turn their title-winning style on, looking almost flawless for the final few months of the season.

And that will be the challenge for any other suitors, trying to keep up with that momentum, as Arsenal failed to last season.

Liverpool get Andy Robertson fitness boost with expected return set

Andy Robertson is expected to make his return from a long-term shoulder injury in the New Year, with the Liverpool left-back making “daily progress” in recovery.

Robertson has been sidelined since mid-October after dislocating his shoulder in Scotland’s 2-0 loss to Spain, with his injury requiring surgery.

The 29-year-old has so far missed 12 games as he undergoes his rehabilitation, with Kostas Tsimikas stepping up in his absence along with Joe Gomez and Luke Chambers.

While he is due to miss the remainder of the year and therefore at least five more fixtures, Robertson is on course to make his comeback in January.

The Mail‘s Lewis Steele reports that the Scotland captain is “on schedule” to return next month, having already resumed running outdoors at the AXA Training Centre.

Robertson is said to be making “daily progress,” with his recovery work “split between treatment and strength work on the injured shoulder.”

Unsurprisingly, he is “not yet involved in contact training,” with any resumption of full training dependent on the strength of his repaired shoulder.

While a vague date of “next month” is reported, it may be safe to assume that Robertson will not be risked until after the winter break.

Liverpool play five more times in December and then have clashes with Newcastle in the Premier League on New Year’s Day and Arsenal in the FA Cup on January 7.

As it stands, there would then be two weeks before the trip to Bournemouth on January 21, which would allow Robertson longer to get up to speed.

That could be added to by progress in the Carabao Cup, though, with a potential semi-final set for the week commencing January 8.

Either way, unless there is a setback for Tsimikas or even Gomez or Chambers, Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to rely upon Robertson to start until he is fully fit.

Klopp already received a major injury boost last week when Alisson returned to full training and then made two crucial stops to help ensure Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Alexis Mac Allister missed that clash with a knee problem but is not likely to be out for long, while Diogo Jota is stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Joel Matip will miss the remainder of the season after surgery on his ACL, and caution is being taken with both Thiago (hip) and Stefan Bajcetic (calf).

Manchester United will reportedly listen to offers for five stars in the January transfer window as Erik ten Hag plans another major cull of his first-team squad. Raphael Varane, Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek have all been made available for a permanent transfer, it has been claimed.

United are reportedly wary that Financial Fair Play regulations mean they will need to offload players before they make any major additions to Ten Hag’s squad. However, it is reported that no player will be forced out of the club against their wishes.

Ten Hag will also not sanction any departures that weaken the squad. That could mean replacements will be eyed for anyone who leaves in January, despite the United boss downplaying the prospect of signings ahead of the winter market.

Offers for a quintet of stars will all be listened to ahead of the window, which will mark Ten Hag’s fourth as head coach at Old Trafford. A mass exodus is supposedly not expected, but players could depart if good proposals are made by interested clubs.

According to MEN, Varane, Casemiro, Martial, Sancho and Van de Beek could all be moved on. All five have struggled to work their way into Ten Hag’s plans of late for differing reasons.

Varane has started just one of the last 13 matches. The reason for his omission from the starting 11 for October’s Manchester derby was described by Ten Hag as “tactical” but the Frenchman has played in just 12 Premier League minutes in the interim. Harry Maguire has taken Varane’s place and won the league’s Player of the Month award for November.

Team-mate Casemiro was signed by Ten Hag for £60m in the summer of 2022 and was initially a revelation at Old Trafford. A midfield lynchpin in last season’s League Cup triumph and successful quest for Champions League qualification, the Brazilian has since struggled with form and injuries.

Casemiro is absent until late December with a hamstring issue but his concerning dip in form will reportedly see United make the former Real Madrid star available in January. So too will bids for forward Martial, whose substitution during Saturday’s dismal 3-0 defeat by Bournemouth was sarcastically cheered by portions of Old Trafford.

Martial has a contract that expires in the summer. United will reportedly not trigger an extension clause in the 28-year-old’s deal, and he will leave for free if there is no buyer in January.

Fellow attacker Sancho could also be sold having been exiled from the first-team since early September after a bitter falling-out with Ten Hag. The United boss insisted that the door is open for Sancho to return should he apologise, but that outcome now seems unlikely.

Meanwhile, midfielder Van de Beek will be allowed to move on from his torrid spell at United. A £34m purchase from Ten Hag’s Ajax in 2021, the Netherlands international has failed to win a place in Ten Hag’s United team since his countryman’s appointment a year later.

The report adds that there is uncertainty over the future of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United will reportedly trigger an extension clause in the contract of the former Crystal Palace star, but talks over a new deal for the 25-year-old have supposedly stalled.

Dermot Gallagher believes that the officials got one big call wrong during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Reds were trailing 1-0 with 15 minutes of normal time remaining when Jordan Ayew – who’d previously been booked – was shown a second yellow card for impeding Harvey Elliott on the halfway line.

Speaking on Sky Sports News‘ Ref Watch segment on Monday morning, the former Premier League referee believes that the Ghanaian’s foul wasn’t worthy of the second booking which saw him depart prematurely.

When asked if there was enough on it to warrant a yellow card, Gallagher replied: “I thought not. All I can think is the referee thinks Ayew is breaking a promising attack, which he’s not.”

Taking the incident in isolation, Ayew knew he was doing in tripping Elliott, and it probably warranted a yellow card in and of itself.

However, the first booking Andy Madley had shown to the 32-year-old – for stopping Virgil van Dijk from taking a quick free kick – was harsh, so the referee had made a rod for his own back by the time the Palace attacker committed the offence which saw him given his marching orders.

Neither incident seemed like much to merit him being sent off – even combined they were no worse than Cristian Romero’s stamp on Callum Wilson yesterday, which saw the Tottenham defender shown yellow rather than red.

Some may argue that, having already booked him, the referee could’ve let Ayew off with a final warning for the foul on Elliott, although then he might’ve faced questions as to why he didn’t give a yellow card which would’ve been warranted more than the first one he’d shown.

The rights and wrongs may continue to be discussed, but what’s beyond doubt is that the Ghanaian’s dismissal was a turning point on Saturday, with Liverpool seizing upon the one-player advantage to score twice and salvage victory from the jaws of defeat.

A shoulder injury picked up while on international duty in October has kept Andy Robertson on the sidelines in recent weeks.

The left-back was forced to undergo surgery after dislocating his shoulder playing for Scotland and it was reported at the time that he would be out for up to three months.

“I’ve not looked that far ahead yet [to a possible return date],” Robertson said last month. “I’m just trying to take it week by week.

“I don’t want to put a game in mind and then I don’t make it or I come back before then. I’m just taking it slowly but surely just now, and then there’ll be a time to start pushing it – and when that comes, I’ll try to get on the pitch as quickly as I can.”

Joel Matip is set to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his ACL.

With the defender out of contract in June, there is a chance he has played his final game for Liverpool as he undergoes surgery and begins a long road to recovery.

However, Klopp has insisted the club will “show their class” and believes Matip deserves a new deal, suggesting he could still have a future at the club.

Potential return date: Unknown

Liverpool fans will have to wait until 2024 to see Thiago back in action.

The midfielder had surgery in April and continues to battle a hip injury, with the issue preventing him from playing a single minute of football so far this season.

He has suffered a couple of setbacks in his recovery, and Klopp revealed the midfielder is unlikely to return until next year.

The Liverpool said: “It’s an ongoing thing and we cannot put any kind of pressure on there as well. We expect him to be back – and I would say probably the start of the new year.”

Like Thiago, it has been a frustrating campaign for Stefan Bajcetic, though the teenager has at least been able to play this season.

The midfielder started in the Europa League against LASK and then featured in the Carabao Cup win over Leicester, but he has been out of action since September.

No timeframe has been given on his return, with Bajcetic also seemingly unlikely to play again this year.

Potential return date: January 2024

Liverpool footballer Trent Alexander-Arnold has teamed up with the Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram to help the homeless over the festive period.

It is the busiest time of year for homeless charities, so they are teaming up with The Whitechapel Centre to deliver emergency parcels to nearly 2,000 people across Merseyside.

The packages include gifts, vouchers, clothing and sanitary products to those who rely on The Whitechapel Centre’s services. For many people who rely on its support, this will be their first Christmas without a home of their own.

The charity, which receives the majority of its funding from Liverpool City Council, is currently experiencing soaring demand, with its outreach team seeing a record number of people sleeping rough over the last 12 months.

Trent Alexander-Arnold said: “I’m someone who has been fortunate to receive unbelievable support from my city all my life, so the motivation is to give something back at Christmas.
“Liverpool is lucky to have community leaders who know which areas are most in need of additional help and I’m really grateful to Mayor Rotheram and The Whitechapel Centre for allowing me to partner with them. In doing so we stand alongside the many other brilliant organisations and campaigners who are dedicated to issue.
“Homelessness is something that can impact people and families through no fault of their own. We should all listen and engage with those on the front line, who dedicate their time to helping those most in need. If my involvement and support helps, even in a small way, then I appreciate the opportunity to play a part.”

As well as supporting The Whitechapel Centre, the packages will be sent to homeless charities and support services across the Liverpool City Region including Housing First.

Launched by Mayor Rotheram in 2018, Housing First is a new way to tackle homelessness in the region, focusing on putting people in a safe, secure property of their own at the earliest opportunity.

To date, more than 2,000 homeless people across the Liverpool City Region have been supported by Housing First, with more than 200 securing the first secure tenancy in their lifetime.

Increasingly we’re also seeing that the impacts of the ongoing cost of living crisis are forcing more of the most vulnerable in our community into homelessness and destitution as they struggle to make ends meet.

“We’re doing everything we can with the limited funding we’ve managed to wrestle from government to tackle some of the very worst forms of homelessness and provide people with the wraparound support they need. Yet, despite our efforts, we still rely heavily on the generosity of volunteers and donors who support fantastic places like The Whitechapel Centre and countless other charities across the region who provide a safety net to people during their greatest moment of need”

The Whitechapel Centre is the Liverpool City Region’s leading homeless and housing charity. It works with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation.

David Carter, Chief Executive of The Whitechapel Centre, said: “Homelessness is a terrifying experience at any time of the year but at Christmas it is even worse. This winter we are working with more people than ever before, from people who are facing eviction to those who are sleeping rough. We always try to make Christmas as enjoyable as possible, our outreach teams are working throughout, checking-in with people, hosting Christmas meals and giving out gifts. We know the people of Liverpool really care about others less fortunate and it’s wonderful that Trent and Steve are being so generous with their time and donations.

“Sadly, we’re already seeing record numbers of people coming to us for help and we expect this to continue throughout the winter. As a city region we are facing unprecedented levels of poverty, housing need and homelessness. There are many factors causing this and we need systemic changes across the country to bring a halt to the situation. In the meantime, we are very grateful for the support and donations we receive from the people of the Liverpool City Region.”

The Whitechapel Centre is currently taking donations for its Christmas appeal. Donations can be dropped off at The Whitechapel Centre’s warehouse, Unit 6, 10a Blackstock Street, L3 6EP. The warehouse if open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-3pm.

Mo Salah hit a major milestone at Crystal Palace, scoring his 200th goal for Liverpool Football Club.

Garth Crooks agreed with Jurgen Klopp that it was a ‘very special’ figure reached for the Egyptian international.

“A very special number for a very special player, said Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool’s win at Crystal Palace and he’s right,” the pundit wrote in his column for BBC Sport.

“Salah clocked up his 200th goal for the club at Selhurst Park and it helped galvanise a victory that saw them finish the day top of the table.

“To score 200 goals in your career is a remarkable achievement, but to do it at one club is quite astonishing.”

It further consolidates the attacker’s spot in the club’s all-time top scorers chart, with the player now only 28 goals short of matching the iconic Billy Liddell (228) in fourth.

On the form Salah’s in, you wouldn’t necessarily bet against him reaching that figure before the season draws to a close in May.

Ian Rush’s record is the one to beat
346 goals remains the one to beat for our Egyptian King.

It will, naturally, require a contract extension beyond his 2025 expiry, even should the 31-year-old go on to enjoy his most prolific season.

With 22 goal contributions registered in as many games this term (I mean, that’s just ludicrous isn’t it?), you’d have to think contract talks would be a relative inevitability.

His body’s in superb shape and he’s effectively adapted his role in the side to still be of immense value, even if he’s not relying on his pace to blitz past opposition defences every week.

Mohamed Salah has become only the fifth player in Liverpool’s history to score 200 goals for the club in all competitions.

The Egyptian’s strike against Crystal Palace on Saturday saw him follow in the footsteps of Anfield talismans Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson and Billy Liddell, reaching the milestone in only 327 games.

To celebrate Salah’s double century, let’s take a look at 11 of the greatest from the No.11 so far…

The first for LFC: Watford 3-3 Liverpool – August 12, 2017

It took Salah only 57 minutes to open his Reds scoring account. Having joined from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, the Egyptian made his competitive bow on the opening day of the season at Watford and swiftly made his mark, netting his side’s third goal in an eventual 3-3 draw.

It was a trademark poacher’s effort, Salah following up after good work by Roberto Firmino to net from close range. By the end of his first campaign on Merseyside, he had already added another 43 to his collection.

The first at Anfield: Liverpool 4-2 Hoffenheim – August 23, 2017

Of Salah’s first 200 goals, 110 have come at Anfield, and the first arrived in a Champions League qualifier against Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

Again, it was a strike that showcased his penalty-box instincts, following up after Georginio Wijnaldum’s shot had struck the post. It was one of 11 European goals Salah scored that season.

The first hat-trick: Liverpool 5-0 Watford – March 17, 2018

Salah scored seven braces in his first campaign with Liverpool, but his first hat-trick came in a thrashing of Watford in March 2018.

He actually scored four that day, his goals a mix of individual brilliance and trademark finishing as Jürgen Klopp’s side secured a memorable 5-0 victory.

The PL record-breaker: Liverpool 4-0 Brighton & Hove Albion – May 13, 2018

The final day of the 2017-18 season saw Liverpool secure Champions League qualification with a 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield, and saw Salah secure a piece of Premier League history in the process.

His first-half strike in front of the Kop was his 44th of the campaign in all competitions and his 32nd in the league, making him the first player ever to reach that tally in a 38-game season.

The 50th: Liverpool 4-0 Red Star Belgrade – October 24, 2018

It is hard to keep track of the records Salah has broken in his time at Liverpool, but in October 2018 he became the fastest player in Reds history to reach 50 goals in all competitions.

His second goal in a 4-0 Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade at Anfield meant he hit the half-century mark in just 65 games, 12 fewer than the great Albert Stubbins and 14 fewer than Hunt.

The Champions League final opener: Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur – June 1, 2019

Having been forced off through injury when Liverpool lost the 2018 Champions League final to Real Madrid, Salah went into the following year’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur determined to write a different script.

And he certainly did, needing fewer than two minutes to get the Reds off to a flyer in Madrid by converting a penalty. Liverpool went on to win 2-0, securing their sixth European Cup in the process.

The 100th: Everton 2-2 Liverpool – October 17, 2020

In October 2020, Salah became only the 17th player to reach 100 goals for Liverpool in all competitions.

He did so in a Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park, in what was his 159th appearance for the club. Only Hunt (144 appearances) and Jack Parkinson (153) have ever netted 100 Liverpool goals faster.

The best?: Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City – October 3, 2021

Everyone will have their favourite Salah goal.

Whether it’s the long-range thunderbolt against Chelsea, the mazy dribble against Tottenham or the majestic curler against Roma, the Egyptian has scored some stunners during his Liverpool career.

His strike against Manchester City in October 2021 may be his most spectacular individual goal, though.

Collecting a pass from Curtis Jones with his back to goal on the right flank, Salah was able to bamboozle four City defenders before firing home from a narrow angle with his right foot.

“Only the best players in the world score goals like this,” said Klopp afterwards. “This club never forgets these things so people will talk about this goal for a long time and in 50 or 60 years’ time they will remember this goal.”

The history-maker: Manchester United 0-5 Liverpool – October 24, 2021

Liverpool recorded their biggest ever victory at Old Trafford in October 2021 and Salah, naturally, was right in the thick of things.

In a memorable 5-0 win, Salah’s clinical treble meant he became the first player since Fred Howe, in 1936, to score a hat-trick for the Reds away to Manchester United.

The record-breaking hat-trick: Rangers 1-7 Liverpool – October 12, 2022

Salah has scored 11 of his first 200 goals for Liverpool as a substitute, and never has he made a more dramatic impact off the bench than at Ibrox in October 2022.

Replacing Darwin Nunez in the 68th minute, Salah proceeded to score the fastest hat-trick in Champions League history, with only six minutes and 12 seconds separating his first and third strikes. Liverpool won the game 7-1.

The 200th: Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool – December 9, 2023

The double century came when his side needed it.

Trailing 1-0 to Palace at Selhurst Park, Salah’s effort from inside the box in minute 76 took a wicked deflection off Nathaniel Clyne and ended up wrong-footing goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

It was far from his prettiest but it put Liverpool on course for another dramatic comeback, which was then clinched by Harvey Elliott’s late screamer.

“It was pretty much the best moment to score it, to be 100 per cent honest,” Klopp said. “Incredible number for a super-special, super, super-special player.”

Salah reacted: “It was really tough today but, of course, when you win and score goals, it’s a great feeling. I’m happy for the record and also happy for the team to win the game.”

Liverpool could make 10 changes with two players finally back from long-term injury

Liverpool head into their final Europa League group game away at Union SG safe in the knowledge they have already topped the group and booked their place in the round-of-16.

Having beaten Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday to move top of the Premier League table, and with a mammoth Anfield treble-header looming against Manchester United, West Ham United in the League Cup quarter-finals, and Arsenal, changes in Belgium are inevitable.

While the match is a dead-rubber for the Reds, Union still have plenty to play for. Third in Group E, they can still qualify for either the Europa League and Europa Conference League knockout play-off rounds, as well as be eliminated from Europe completely.

A much-changed side is expected, and with plenty of Liverpool’s youngsters eyeing up potential game-time, we look at the changes Klopp could consider making.

Bradley handed first start of season

Conor Bradley would have likely played a much more prominent role in the season to date if he hadn’t suffered an injury in pre-season. But now back fit, the Northern Ireland international can expect to be handed his first start of the campaign against Union SG and a full European debut.

Jarell Quansah will keep his place at centre-back and is potentially the only player to retain a starting berth from Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace. He could be partnered by either Joe Gomez or Ibrahima Konate. If it’s the former, he will captain the side as Liverpool’s longest-serving player.

Luke Chambers started the 5-1 victory over Toulouse at Anfield, and could get the nod again at left-back in Belgium, though he is also an option at centre-back. If not, then Calum Scanlon is an option to be handed his full debut, while Caoimhin Kelleher will replace Alisson in goal.

Elliott and Jones ‘rewarded’

Having come off the bench to snatch victory for Liverpool against Crystal Palace, both Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones could be handed starting berths in Belgium.

The latter could line up in the deeper role, while James McConnell is also a possibility at number six and could make his first professional start. If Klopp favours more experienced options, Wataru Endo or Ryan Gravenberch could keep their places instead.

Doak or Gordon?

Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon are arguably vying to start on the right against Union. The former has made four appearances this season and been a regular in Klopp’s matchday squad, while the latter, who is yet to feature in Europe, hasn’t played first team football since January 2021 as he continues to feel his way back after long-term injury.

However, Elliott is also an option if Klopp favours a more senior selection. With one eye on United, it would be a surprise if Mohamed Salah isn’t rested altogether. Consequently, two of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo could start – with the Dutchman most likely after being a substitute against Palace.

Alternatively, Scanlon could also play on the left-wing having, at times, played in a more advanced role for Liverpool Under-21s this season.

Lewis Koumas and Melkamu Frauendorf haven’t featured for the Reds this season, but could come into contention if Klopp wants to rest as many senior stars as possible with both already named on List B for Liverpool’s Europa League squad.

Jose Enrique picks who was better for Liverpool out of Mo Salah and Luis Suarez

Mo Salah scored his 150th Premier League goal yesterday as he continued to fire Liverpool towards success this season.

Salah was on hand to level proceedings at Crystal Palace before then playing a part in Harvey Elliott’s late winner for the Reds.

Liverpool fans love Salah and he is widely lauded as one of the best they’ve ever had. Indeed, a lot of comparisons get made to former striker Luis Suarez, who excelled at Anfield before signing for Barcelona.

However, while Suarez might have been brilliant, former Reds defender Jose Enrique concedes that while Suarez might have been the better player, Salah will go down as the bigger Liverpool legend.

“The reality is he’s breaking records, he stayed for longer, and he’s won a lot more trophies than Luis in the Liverpool shirt. Both of them are legends of the club but Luis is the best player I’ve ever played with, the only players I put ahead of him are Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Enrique said.

Salah has now hit 200 goals in all competitions for Liverpool and his record is quite remarkable.

Salah or Suarez is hard to debate for Liverpool
It’s almost impossible to choose between the pair. Salah has been so, so good for Liverpool that it’s hard to say there’s been anyone better.

Of course, as Enrique says here, Suarez was some player and he did things that many at Anfield had never seen before.

However, Salah’s longevity and the fact he’s won things with the Reds mean he is probably just that step ahead of the Uruguayan forward.

Both have been superb in their own way and the thought of having both in the same team at one point would have been something for Liverpool fans to dream about.
