Club turn down Newcastle deal because they want Spurs player instead
Bharad Thirumalai

According to AS Roma Live, AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Kieran Trippier but they would prefer to sign Emerson Royal over the Newcastle United star.

AC Milan want to sign Emerson Royal
There continue to be plenty of reports about Emersonā€™s proposed move to Milan, although it does not appear at the moment as if the transfer is getting close or imminent.

Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that the Rossoneri remain hopeful that they will be able to complete a deal for the 25-year-old, who is surplus to requirements at Spurs.

The report added that while Tottenham value the Brazilian at around ā‚¬20m (Ā£17m), there is a feeling among the San Siro hierarchy that a bid of around ā‚¬18m (Ā£15.2m) would be enough to clinch the deal.

Trippier offered to AC Milan
ASRomaLive have now claimed that Newcastle offered Milan the chance to take Trippier off their books.

MORE SPURS STORIES
The report claims that the Magpies are ready to cash in on the England star after his form dipped last season and they sensed an opportunity to shift him to Milan.

However, Paulo Fonsecaā€™s men allegedly turned down the chance to sign the former Spurs man as they are hoping to seal a deal for Emerson.

Spurs Web Opinion

It appears as if Emerson is Milanā€™s top right-back target but they are playing the waiting game and assessing other alternatives in an effort to get Spurs to drop their asking price.

I would not be surprised if this deal moved quickly within the next week or two.

West Brom have been ā€˜urgedā€™ to hold onto two of their star players.
England brought their fans from the edge of despair to land of elation last night when they overcame a dogged Slovakia outfit by a score of 2-1. As the Three Lions now prepare to take on Switzerland, letā€™s take a look at all the Championship transfer rumours from today.

West Bromwich Albion have been advised to keep two of their star players during the ongoing transfer window – meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are the cusp of signing a highly-rated Leeds ace, with a deal agreed ā€˜in principleā€™.

West Brom ā€˜urgedā€™ to keep one of Alex Mowatt and Okay Yokuslu
West Brom have been ā€˜urgedā€™ to keep hold of Alex Mowatt and Okay Yokuslu over the course of the summer transfer window. They have already put pen to paper with Mowatt – but can they do the same with Yokuslu?

Speaking to Football League World, fan pundit Matt Smith said: “I probably think Albion can’t afford to lose both Mowatt and Yokuslu in the same summer. If they intend on winning promotion this year, then it would probably be too big of a gap to fill to replace the both of them.

ā€œYokuslu has just been a class act for us since he’s been at the club, both on loan and permanently. [Mowatt and Yokuslu is] one of the best midfield pairings in the Championship, to be honest. Can I see a deal being struck with Trabzonspor and Albion? I think it depends on the player, but he’s 30 with a year left on his contract. A couple of million – say Ā£2 million or Ā£3 million – that’s probably a realistic valuation.

ā€œWe’re not in a position to demand much. His value to the team is greater than that. He’s one of our best players. You’re not going to get more than maybe Ā£4 million at the most maybe. Between Ā£2 million and Ā£4 million is what you’re looking at.

ā€œIf the player wants to go back to Turkey after the Euros? Then, yes, I can see a deal being struck. I think he’s very settled at the club, so I at least hope that he’ll be happy to see out the last year of his contract.ā€

Archie Gray agrees to join Tottenham Hotspur ā€˜in principleā€™
Leeds United starboy Archie Gray burst onto the scene in the Championship last season – and Tottenham Hotspur have taken notice of this. They have agreed a deal ā€˜in principleā€™ with the Whites to bring him to North London for a fee of Ā£40 million.

This is according to a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano. In addition to the Ā£40 million, Leeds are also expected to sign Joe Rodon from Spurs for a fee of Ā£10 million, although this is not set to impact the deal involving Gray.

Writing on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Romano penned: ā€œArchie Gray to Tottenham, here we go! Agreement in principle between all parties involved, waiting to sign docs. Spurs are set to pay fee around Ā£40m, long term deal for Gray whoā€™s accepted to join THFC. Joe Rodon to join LUFC in separate transaction around Ā£10m.ā€
