WHAT HAPPENED?
The Portuguese midfielder was not named in Erik ten Hag’s 29-member United squad that travelled to the United States for pre-season as he enjoyed an extended vacation after representing his national team in Euro 2024. Fernandes spent his time off visiting Turkey with his wife Ana Pinho and their two children.

Earlier in the summer, L’Equipe reported that Paris Saint-Germain are considering signing the midfielder in the ongoing transfer window as they look to replace their talisman Kylian Mbappe, who left for Real Madrid as a free agent. However, PSG later shifted focus on Fernandes’ compatriot Joao Neves and are now on the verge of completing the transfer from Benfica.
