‘future Spurs captain’ and nine others
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou is ready to axe 10 players in a ruthless clearout of his squad this summer.

Ange Postecoglou is prepared to allow up to 10 players to leave Tottenham this summer as the new manager begins his ruthless clearout of the squad ahead of a busy transfer window. Spurs are set for another major overhaul this summer after appointing the Australian to replace Antonio Conte and the ex-Celtic boss’ plans include offloading several star names that featured regularly under his predecessor, with several new faces expected to arrive in their place.

Harry Kane
Club captain Hugo Lloris, who has already announced his intention to leave the club, is set to be allowed to depart after 11 years with Tottenham.

The France international has a year left on his contract but he looks set to head for the exit, with Spurs poised to confirm a £16million deal for Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicaro this week.

And Postecoglou is also set to dash any hopes Harry Winks may have had of resurrecting his career at Spurs after a loan spell with Sampdoria. The 10-cap England midfielder made 20 appearances for the Italian side but the 27-year-old is heading back to England following their relegation from Serie A.

Myself and Harry were visiting a care home for people with dementia, we went there with the Spurs football foundation with a company called Sporting Memories,” Mabbutt told Love Sport Radio. “Harry was a superstar, amongst all the elderly people in bad conditions and Harry was fantastic.

“I’ve got the belief that if he continues to improve as he is, I think he could be a future captain of the club.”

The academy graduate fell out of favour under Conte and may have been hoping for a lifeline under his new manager, but Postecoglou is set to wield the axe, according to The Athletic. The 57-year-old coach is willing to part ways with up to 10 players this summer – including some Spurs regulars – as he prepares for a major overhaul of the current squad.

but it appears neither player has done enough to secure a permanent move.

Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele were both farmed out on loan last season and, despite costing a combined £120m, the pair do not seem to be in Postecoglou’s plans next season.

Lo Celso could now return to Spain after his brief spell with Villarreal, while there has been interest from Italian clubs in signing club-record buy Ndombele. Alfie Devine could head out on loan again, while Ivan Perisic’s future looks uncertain.

Postecoglou will be hoping to raise enough money from the sales to fund signings of his own, with Leicester playmaker James Maddison on his radar after the Foxes were relegated to the Championship.

Tottenham are on the verge of signing Edmond Tapsoba after submitting a £25 million bid for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.

Tottenham are hoping to sign Edmond Tapsoba after submitting a £25 million bid, according to the Daily Star. The 24-year-old defender is said to be keen on joining Spurs, who may have finally found a solid target for their defense after a number of failed attempts to sign other talents.

Tottenham are stepping up their transfer efforts as Ange Postecoglu attempts to bolster his team. Spurs have already signed Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis from Juventus, and have also signed Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

They have secured a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and solved a troublesome position with the latter. They will now shift their focus to bringing a new defender who fits their style. Tottenham have been hunting for a left-sided centre-back since the days of Antonio Conte, and they are now very close to finding one.

Spurs have advanced their pursuit of Burkina Faso centre-back Edmond Tapsoba, who emerged as a prominent target for the club. The 24-year-old defender is ready to join Tottenham this summer in search of a new challenge in his promising career.

According to the source, Tottenham have already made a £25 million approach for the 24-year-old defender. Negotiations between the two parties continue, though it is unclear whether Leverkusen will accept the offered sum, given that they had demanded much more.

Spurs are hoping to sign the defender, despite the fact that Tapsoba was not their first option. They had unsuccessfully pursued Aymeric Laporte, and there are links to other high-profile individuals on their list, including Juventus player Gleison Bremer.

They’ve also been connected with Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, but the Cottagers likely expect a large amount to let him to leave. As a result, they may have believed Tapsoba was a plausible target and maybe a cheaper one in comparison to their other targets.

Tottenham would hope to complete the transfer soon and then concentrate their efforts on other names for various positions. James Maddison remains a top target, and Jadon Sancho has been linked with a move to the North London club.

Tapsoba’s possible presence could strengthen their defense and solve some of their prior issues. Davinson Sanchez’s future at the club is uncertain, thus they may want to add another centre-back this window.
