Liverpool news and transfers LIVE – Manuel Ugarte swoop, Jurrien Timber links, Tottenham reaction

Yesterday was dramatic! The Reds are up to fifth in the Premier League after beating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 at Anfield. A 94th minute Diogo Jota winner was needed to send Reds fans wild.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte and the Reds have reportedly been in contact with his representatives ahead of the summer.

The Reds have also been linked with a move for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber after he revealed an agreement is in place to allow him to leave in the summer. Liverpool have been tipped to make a defensive signing this summer.

Sky Sports announced that Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Tottenham yesterday would be Graeme Souness’ last game as a pundit on the channel.

Tributes poured in for a tearful Souness and Jamie Carragher was amongst the many to praise the Liverpool legend.
