Diogo Jota opens up on Jurgen Klopp text message that shows he’s different to other bosses and promises him two things open and read

Diogo Jota says Jurgen Klopp is different to every other manager he’s played under because he sends you text messages on your days off to check up on you.

The Portuguese was brought in as back-up to any of the Reds’ front three of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

But Jota has well and truly hit the ground running at Anfield, and Klopp has been forced to find a starting place for him in his Liverpool side.

Last time out against Manchester City, Klopp started four attackers, with Jota playing out right in place of Salah, and the Egyptian lining up as a centre-forward.

Mohamed Salah celebrates

Liverpool missed the chance to leapfrog Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League table by drawing at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

After falling behind to a first-half goal from Seagulls winger Simon Adingra, Mohamed Salah fired two goals in five minutes before half-time to hand Liverpool a shock lead at the interval.

Although Ryan Gravenberch had the chance to further extend Liverpool’s lead just minutes into the second half, Jurgen Klopp’s side were made to share the points with the Premier League counterparts after Lewis Dunk capitalised on a sequence of poor defending 12 minutes from time.

The point keeps Liverpool in the top four ahead of the October international break.
