David Moyes subtly lays the blame at one man’s feet for West Ham United’s defeat to Manchester City

West Ham United lost 3-1 to Manchester City at the London Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Overall, it was a decent day at the office for West Ham – Man City will be far too good for almost every team they come up against in the Premier League this season.

David Moyes would have been fairly happy with the way that the Hammers played but there were a couple of things that he obviously wouldn’t have liked.

Nayef Aguerd made a glaring error that led to Man City’s equaliser.

And Moyes was clearly unhappy with the Moroccan’s role in the goal from Bernardo Silva…

Moyes spoke to reporters after the game at the London Stadium yesterday afternoon.

And the Scot subtly laid the blame at Aguerd’s feet for the 3-1 defeat, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I was more disappointed with the second goal. I thought it was poor, the second goal but, overall, I was pleased with how the players have performed and what we’ve tried to do.”

These mistakes are happening far too often from Aguerd it seems.

The way that he allowed the ball to float over his head to Bernardo yesterday really was unacceptable.

The 27-year-old has to sort himself out and quick, if he is to maintain his place in the Hammers starting lineup.

However, I feel like Moyes should drop him down to the bench after his error yesterday. It’s not like it was an incident in isolation either – he has been at fault numerous times this season.

Let’s hope that he bucks his ideas up quickly.
