‘It’s rough’: Ryan Gravenberch shares one thing he’s struggled with since joining Liverpool

New Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has spoken about settling into life at the club after his transfer from Bayern Munich.
The 21-year-old joined Jurgen Klopp’s side in a deal worth up to £38 million after the German overhauled the Reds’ midfield during the window.
Gravenberch has already impressed Klopp and the fanbase since his arrival, with a stunning debut against LASK in the Europa League.
However, the Dutchman has admitted that he’s struggled with one thing since moving to Anfield.

Gravenberch on his accent troubles
Speaking in an interview for Saturday Social, Gravenberch admitted that he’s still struggling to understand the scouse accent.
“If I’m honest, when they speak sometimes I have to think hard and then I can sort of understand what they’re saying.
“Maybe in a couple of weeks, I can get used to it because it’s tough. My scouse accent is okay, but maybe if I’m here long enough it’ll get better!”

Gravenberch looking to be a solid addition
It’s safe to say Gravenberch hasn’t been rushed into action, which was definitely the right call from Klopp considering his lack of extended game time.
As he moves up the gears, and once he’s fully up to speed, it’ll be exciting to see how Gravenberch continues to fare for Liverpool.
£38 million may seem a hefty sum for a 21-year-old, but he certainly could turn into a world-class talent under Klopp’s guidance.

Ryan Gravenberch admits he’d love Liverpool to now go and sign £39m Arsenal player

Ryan Gravenberch has admitted that he’d love Liverpool to increase their Dutch contingent.
The Reds now have three of the Netherlands best players in their squad. Captain Virgil van Dijk is a world star, Cody Gakpo is their top forward and although he’s fallen out of favour with the national team, Gravenberch is a burgeoning talent.
But according to Liverpool’s new midfielder, the Reds shouldn’t stop there. Asked by Sky Sports which of his national team colleagues should arrive at Anfield next, Gravenberch opted for another Premier League talent.

“I’d go maybe for a good friend of mine, Jurrien Timber,” smiled the 21-year-old. “I played my whole life with him, he’s like a brother to me so that’s why I’d choose him.”
Having moved to Arsenal for around £39m this summer, we don’t think there’s much chance of that now, Ryan. But the Reds have been linked with his twin brother, Quentin. A decent alternative!

Gravenberch sings Timber praises
Timber couldn’t have been much more unlucky this season. First of all, he seemingly snubbed interest from Liverpool to join Arsenal.
That in itself could be seen as being bad enough for the former Ajax man, but he then ruptured his ACL in his very first Premier League game. Nightmare.
As a result of both of those things, we don’t think there’s any chance of Liverpool granting Gravenberch his wish.

Nevertheless, there’s a possibility that the Reds do add to their Dutch group at some stage. With Pep Lijnders now seemingly quite heavily involved in the recruitment it’s perhaps not a coincidence that Gakpo and Gravenberch have both arrived in the last year.
Jurrien’s brother Quentin is the latest to be linked, and would look like an interesting option in midfield.
Aside from the Feyenoord man, there are other options out there who could be worth looking into.
Timber’s teammate Lutsharel Geertruida looks like a top defender in the making, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is another real talent. So, Gravenberch won’t get his ultimate wish come true, but maybe there’ll be a consolation prize on the way.
