CONFIRMED DEAL✅ Tottenham signed Bayern Leverkusen midfielder ahead of Liverpool  €170mREPORT

Tottenham Hotspur continue to chase Micky van de Ven with the player’s agent believing that the move would be a positive step.

The agent of Micky van de Ven appears to be interested in securing a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Tottenham are chasing two centre back signings this summer and are being linked with a number of names.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Max Kilman are two Premier League names mentioned whilst Edmond Tapsoba is an option a little further afield.

Tottenham’s priority seems to be another Bundesliga defender though with Wolfsburg ace Van de Ven a prime target.

Rumours really started accelerating earlier in the week as De Telegraaf reporter Mike Verweij claimed that Van de Ven had agreed a five-year Tottenham deal.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on Wednesday that Tottenham have now sent a first offer to Wolfsburg and are hoping to get the Dutchman signed up.

This move seems to be heading in the right direction for Tottenham and Van de Ven’s agent hasn’t calmed the rumours.

Mick van de Ven agent open to Tottenham move
Jose Fortes Rodriguez – who was a defender in the Netherlands during his playing days with AZ Alkmaar and RBC Roosendaal – serves Van de Ven’s agent.

A key part of ‘Team Raiola’ following Mino Raiola’s passing, Fortes Rodriguez is now seemingly keen to move Van de Ven.

Fortes Rodriguez has told Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung that Spurs ‘would be a good move’ for Van de Ven right now.

The Spaniard added that there is no agreement yet and talks must be held with Wolfsburg to figure out the next steps.

“We have to talk to VfL first. I think Spurs would be a good move for Micky. But there is no agreement,” said Fortes Rodríguez.

Van de Ven and his agent seem keen to join Tottenham, especially amid claims from Fabrizio Romano that the defender’s ‘strong desire’ to sign for Spurs has been communicated to Wolfsburg.

Sorting out personal terms won’t be a problem so it looks like a fee is the only thing standing in Tottenham’s way from landing a new left-sided centre back – and Ange Postecoglou will want this sorted soon.

Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham are pursuing two ‘exceptional’ players

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven in recent weeks.

Spurs are looking to bring in a new centre-back under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Alasdair Gold recently claimed that Tottenham will have to make a decision on which of the two to sign.

His report on football.london looked at Tapsoba and Van de Ven’s respective price tags amongst other things.

The former is reportedly valued at around £50million, while the latter apparently has a £30million price tag.

Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Tapsoba and Van de Ven on GiveMeSport.

The transfer insider confirmed that Tapsoba would indeed be the more expensive signing of the two players.

He also reiterated that Spurs are yet to make their “final decision” on who they decide to bring in this summer.

Romano stressed that Tottenham are “still working on both” deals ahead of deciding who to move for.

He said: “So let’s say Tapsoba’s more expensive, but I feel both deals are still on.

“So Tottenham are still working on both waiting to make a final decision.”

Both have been deemed ‘exceptional‘ and both look like future stars who could go from strength to strength at N17.

Spurs have already sealed three signings this summer as Postecoglou looks to revamp his under-performing squad.

Tottenham needed an upgrade on Hugo Lloris in goal and in Guglielmo Vicario, they’ve got just that.

And in James Maddison, Spurs now have one of the best attacking midfielders in the country.

Now, Tottenham have turned their attention to the defence, which sadly proved very flimsy last season.

If both Tapsoba and Van de Ven were eager to join Spurs, then the Lilywhites have quite a nice dilemma on their hands.

Both have been deemed ‘exceptional‘ and both look like future stars who could go from strength to strength at N17.

As per football.london, Tapsoba ‘is seen as a more ready-made addition for Postecoglou’s defence, with his ability on the ball, strength and acceleration.

‘The Burkina Faso international has made 100 Bundesliga appearances to Van de Ven’s 38 and also has Champions League and Europa League experience.’

Whether Tottenham signs Edmond Tapsoba or Micky van de Ven

Tottenham’s pursuit of a Champions League berth could also come down to whether the club decides to sign Edmond Tapsoba or Micky van de Ven.

Based on various reports, it will be an either-or situation and not both.

Spurs: Barca expect Clement Lenglet agreement

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Tottenham.

Barcelona club chief Joan Laporta expects to reach an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over the signing of defender Clement Lenglet this summer.

Who are Spurs signing this summer?

As already confirmed, the Lilywhites have put pen to paper on deals for Dejan Kulusevski – who joins permanently from Juventus after 18 months on loan – alongside both goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and midfielder James Maddison.

The latter duo joined in this transfer window and for bargain fees, with Vicario signing for around £17.2 million and Maddison for £40 million, despite the latter starring for Leicester City last season.

Tottenham are also widely tipped to seal the capture of Manor Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk, coming after his impressive 23/23 loan spell at Fulham last year.

The Israeli international is set for a medical after travelling to London, according to Fabrizio Romano, whilst Spurs remain locked in talks over both Micky van de Ven of Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

A new centre-back features highly on Spurs’ to-do list this summer, coming after a season which saw them concede an unacceptable 63 league goals. Indeed, no other side above Bournemouth leaked more than that, with those numbers potentially concerning manager Ange Postecoglou.

Lenglet, who spent last season on loan at Spurs from Barca, has been linked with a return to north London permanently.

The Frenchman made 26 league appearances and even scored during their Champions League campaign, with reports suggesting he could be available for just £8.5 million.

Catalans chief Laporta, speaking to La Vanguardia (via Romano), has confirmed that Barcelona expect to reach an agreement with Spurs over Lenglet’s transfer.

The 28-year-old, thought to be on around £204,000-per-week, has caps at international level for France and has been seriously endorsed by compatriot Hugo Lloris.

What’s been said about Lenglet?

Lloris, speaking to the media last year, called Lenglet a “modern” defender whilst drawing attention to his physical strength as a centre-back – both aerially and in ground duels.

“He’s a modern defender,” said Lloris.

“Comfortable to be able to play from the back. He has a great left foot and can be very strong in one v one and he’s strong in the air.

“Even if it’s never easy when you arrive in the Premier League and he will have to adapt to the intensity of the games but he is a high level player, with experience.

“I’m even more happy because I have a good connection with him and also a great relationship with him. He has a great personality and he will adapt well to the team.”

Former Barca boss Ronald Koeman, speaking back in 2021, also called Lenglet a “very professional” and “serious” player.
