News Update: Man City claimed to have a young player on their hands who could replace Julian Alvarez perfectly.

One important thing to note during Manchester City’s preseason tour of the United States is the abundance of young, quality attackers they have available.

For example, David James supported Oscar Bobb to start in Manchester City’s Premier League opener against Chelsea. Bobb made this claim following his first two appearances in the preseason, against AC Milan and Celtic.

During the preseason, Lescott praised Bobb as City’s “standout performer,” as he seemed to take the lead in becoming one of the key players on a youthful team.

In addition, Pep Guardiola asserted that Nico O’Reilly, a natural number ten, is capable of playing in defensive midfield for Manchester City’s first squad.

O’Reilly showed preseason brilliance in his flair, dribbling ability, well-timed late dashes into the box, and superb technique. These attributes might suggest that whenever he is asked to play higher up the pitch, he could be even more powerful.

James McAtee received accolades from Pep Guardiola as well, and it was confirmed that he will play for his childhood club’s senior squad the next season.

McAtee may also receive a new deal at Etihad Stadium, according to a recent disclosure by Fabrizio Romano.

Despite not being natural attackers, it will be intriguing to see whether any of the aforementioned three names are targeted to replace Julian Alvarez, who is headed to Atletico Madrid.

Oli McBurnie says James McAtee could be the Alvarez successor at Man City

McAtee, however, has more Premier League experience than Bobb and O’Reilly because he started every game for Sheffield United the previous season.

Oli McBurnie is a footballer that was on his team in both the Championship and the English top flight.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, McBurnie asserted that he is certain McAtee can successfully replace Alvarez when the player departs Manchester City in the upcoming season.

McBurnie stated Yes, without a doubt. Among the greatest players I’ve ever played with technically is Macca. Football is a natural fit for those athletes, as I often say about them.

When he plays football, he never seems to have to try, and as you mentioned, [Julian] Alvarez’s departure may provide him the room he needs to continue and have an influence on the team.

I believe that everyone at Sheffield United is aware of his talent and his ability to perform on the highest platform.

McAtee should be looking to capitalise on potential Julian Alvarez exit

McAtee should be glad that City is not looking to recruit another offensive midfield player, as Fabrizio Romano has said they may want a winger rather than a striker to replace Alvarez.

For a starting position, the 21-year-old will still need to contend with elite players like Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

Nevertheless, McAtee will get an opportunity to demonstrate if he is prepared to start at City when either of them is rotated.

The strength of the Sky Blues’ roster means that the Englishman may only get a few starts.

However, McAtee needs to seize his opportunities when they present themselves.

If not, the Salford-born technician will be unable to take advantage of the possibility that Alvarez will not be able to continue impressing Guardiola in light of his rumored exit.
